Only two "must have" mods for my Gladiator, and thankfully I've already achieved both...

37s, and a winch.

First mod is gonna be steps. Second is probably a bed cover. Then a small lift and 34s or maybe 35s if I can find something skinnier than a 12.50

Every persons list will be different depending on daily use and intended usage.

That said, my first mod was to keep my wife happy. AMP XL Power running boards.

LED Lighting so I can see and be seen at night.

Decent Rims and Tires. My Sport S had lousy street radials when delivered.

Seat covers to keep the sand out of the cloth seats.

Bed liner. Mine gets used as a truck with stuff carried in the bed.

I went with the Nitto Ridge Grappler in 285/75/17 marked 34 x11.50 on 17 x 8.5 wheels +10 offset. Perfect fit.

I had in my garage a month before the jeep arrived:
35/12.50/17 Grabber atx's on Q tech retro CJ wheels
Black horse roll bar
Weathertec tan slush mats
Q tec winch bumper (still in the box today) :-(
2nd rear tow hook
Funny. Mine isn't here yet, either, but I've got bumpers, sidesteps, wheels, Sunrider Bonnet, cab cover, floormats, decals, seat heaters and a couple other things sitting in the garage. Hope I have enough $$ to pay for it when it finally comes in!!

2.5 in lift, 35's on 20's. Everything else can wait. A good lift/rim tire package makes this truck. If you leave the wimpy soccer mom wheels on it you'll look like a skinny guy wearing a tank top.

If you run 20s you look like you're from Florida....

Of course this depends on your planned usage. For me the JT is a fun vehicle that needs to survive MN winters as much as possible. So my first mod was side steps to both make entry easier and to reduce road spray in our messy winters. Not really a mod, but my next step was to buy a sprayer and a lot of Woolwax.

Funnest mod by far was the Bestop Sunrider.

Cheapest mod: I took out the rear center headrest. Really bugged me.

Necessary mod: Make sure your insurance covers windshields . . . ;)
