New Gladiator, what to do?

When you have 2 years of the app data and cluster data matching - I guess I see no problem.
If there's no difference, how is one better? They matched, proving the cluster display was very accurate. (also very accurate on our JLU as I tracked things going to FL and back. The display was pretty much spot-on, it matched the app.
If he has not verified his to be accurate, or has done tire swaps and not dialed things in, that's different. But these are actually very accurate. (IF you don't mess up the tire sizes)

All I am saying is that at 25-28 MPG he claims, he is about a +10 to +12 outside the standard deviation most see and +6 to +8 for EPA MPG estimates.

I believe he believes what he claims to see, I just would like to see more accurate data collection and it is from tank fill-up to tank fill-up and not some like he sees the current MPG gauge setting and he is just coasting and or doing some brief hypermiling reading.

Makes sense. I can take one of these and show you a 20+ number with a Mojave X, but.................. it would be cheating.
It takes more than one tank to compare (because of the reasons I stated in the other post)
It's impossible to fill the tank to the exact same level every time - you'd have to mark where your tires were, and park in that exact same space, same load on the truck to keep it the same "levelness", and fill at the same temperature. It's still not going to happen.
Takes multiple tanks. I did use multiple tanks. FillIUp app will do that for you, give you your average, and per tank numbers. I wrote down the cluster numbers and compared. I hate math - but if forced into it, I can make it work sometimes.

The way my wife drives with a heavy foot, we usually average 19 to 21 mpg on long cross country drives. She likes to go fast.

We never ever hypermile and when we experience one on the road, they can expect the finger.

We made a run to KC 3 or so years ago with my JT to pick up several rolls of the cotton batting my wife uses for quilting. It was sticking up in the box a bit, not really above the cab, but enough.
There was a STRONG wind out of the SW as we left KC and headed back to Iowa. For a while I was doing 25 mpg on I35!!
(I should be fair and mention that the trip down was pretty expensive - 17 mpg on a truck that normally did 20+)

So maybe I'll go for a 2" puck lift (for aesthetics, practicality, and an easier time offroading), then look into quick disconnects if I think they're necessary. For the time being I have access to a handheld portable compressor. I'll look into smaller changes as well, as I take some time to learn my rig better.

Just for fun, what kinds of aesthetic changes do you all like best? I like the looks as-is, but it never hurts to ask.

I purchased OEM mud flaps, weathertec floor mats, and a hard, bed cover very soon after buying our Overland JT.
Then after hitting the first deer, I added an ARB deluxe bull bar bumper.

It's your truck, find what you like. After over 4 years of ownership, my wife liked the word Gladiator on the hood, so we added it.

I've heard that, I'll have to try that next time. But disconnects seem relatively cheap, and worth the cost if it becomes a frequent issue.

It can be a bigger issue trying to stick a pin back in a small hole that's become filled with mud.

Once you start playing out in the rough stuff, you will almost always want to disconnect once you try it. It really takes a bunch of the head shake out of it.

Airing down also helps in the ride quality department.

I fought a stock setup once laying in the parking lot trying to get a guy hooked back up.. never again. The drivers side is easy.. the passenger was a pain. Stock height and small tires makes it worse.

Look at the short apex autolynx for the high end, or buy whatever version fits your budget. If you can find a failed rubicon bar, buy it cheap and convert it to manual..

You definitely have the right of that... luckily it was a pretty dry month, so I didn't have to worry about knocking mud out of everything first.

You need to know what you plan on doing with it, then decide what you want the final product to look like . Then think about the cost to get it there. I have spent over $15K on mine just in parts and had the fun of installing them all.

Unless you are doing it the true manual way of recording miles and dividing it by actual gallons pumped until automatic shut off and not nursing an extra gallon after pump shutoff when you fill up, the lie-o-meter computer is giving a false set of data.

I do not top off after filling.
That will flood the vapor recovery tubes & cause a failure.
I have performed manual checks to confirm the computer's accuracy & usually find the onboard computer to report a more optimistic number.
Manual figuring showed numbers lower by no more than 2.5 mpg on my previous vehicles.
I failed to state that these miles are mostly interstate, traveling @ 62 mph.
For some reason, my cheap ADHD mind loves to extend my range by hypermileing.
I do pay more for fuel than most to achieve this. So I strive to use less.
Now that I have installed almost 500 lbs of steel bits to the Glad, the numbers are trending lower.
I'll likely wind up where you are eventually, but let me enjoy my higher numbers for awhile.
It takes a bit of effort & I like the bragging rights (that I can confirm).

My new Compass has been reporting 42 mpg @ 62 mph on interstate 59.
I am happy with those numbers. It provides a reference as to how I am driving.
I have proven these numbers in the past to folks I know, & their eyes confirmed it.
I DO NOT TRUST factory sales pitches or data.
I like to treat my machines better.................much better.
