Whoa you have to pay a deductible for glass? My state windshields are covered by insurance free if you have comprehensive by law. Guess we pay for it in the long run but its nice when you have to use it. But at $800 dollars I think that’s good odds considering my quote is sub $1000 a year.
Only a handful of states have that as a law, most of us don't. I ended up adding a $100 glass deductible that's a couple bucks a month. I do have to call them otherwise I can only choose Safelite and another random chain that won't do OEM. They give you a warning about no warranty through insurance but of course warranties their work so it doesn't matter. Funniest thing was when I went to the shop I chose they asked if I wanted the little Jeep or not and I said of course I do, I'm not paying for it. 🤣 That thing is like $100 extra dollars.

I cracked my windshield on my 2023, (outside of Moab). 2 weeks ago
When I made it back to Texas, got a hold of my insurance. Of course I was passed around till I connected to Safelite the designated vendor for the insurance company.
I told them I did not want them to do the windshield change they were pretty insistent but finally everthing was setup.

I already had a small auto glass company give me a quote and I insisted on OEM. He said he didn't think it was possible based on the money Cap the insurance company had given. I gave him the part number off the windshield he said it might be more than just my deductible. I also sent him a link to the Mopar distribution center had my glass for a considerable amount below the Cap price.

He asked me the same question do you want the one with the willys jeep
I said yes, but I want it to have the P/N I gave you to on it.

He showed up said he had the glass I requested and it was 100% jeep Mopar Glass with willys jeep and the correct P/N. But he also said it was not from Mopar.
I think, a company named Fuyao is actually the manufacture they also provide glass to Mopar and as aftermarket also.
So I lucked out, the two men did a phenomenal job. No, knives on the frame and no squeeze out on any interior.
