We help sellers get multiple offer for their car in as little as one business day.
I didn’t see it, but it sounded loud enough to be a gunshot!

Kevin
Oh my... Well we are glad your car and you are safe from whatever it was

A couple years ago or so my son's windshield was shot - that's best anyone could figure, as he was driving not far from the Des Moines river on his way to our house with his Compass.
Took three tries to get a windshield.
First one arrive - wrong one as he had the advance safety group.
Second one arrived broken.
Third one arrived safe and was correct.
We've had glass chips and cracks in 3 Grand Cherokees, an Eagle, an F250, 2 in my 2020 Gladiator, and seems there was another one years ago.
The one in my F250 was apparently caused by temperature extremes, others were various reasons, rock chips, whatever. One of the two of my 202 Gladiator may have been its own front tire launching a rock we then drove into as there wasn't other traffic unless it was from the lane going the other direction.

No reason for wind noise - not sure how they'd even accomplish that on a trimless windshield unless they didn't set the thing at the right depth - there should be controls on that, though.

With a sealant/glue all the way around the window I really don't see how there could be a leak or wind noise unless the installer really failed. Gorilla glass, ugh.

Checked a local auto glass shop. $1400 installed. Can do it in next day. Why does it take the dealer 2 weeks to get it? After a week or two to get approved .

Probably different supplier, paperwork, procedures...

Checked the dealer today, a week into my Gorilla glass claim. Nothing yet from Jeep. Now I just wait till it's accepted. Could be 2-4 weeks. It's all done electronically so it's in there waiting. Seems rather stupid. Then it takes the dealer 2 weeks to get the glass that a glass shop can get in a day. More stupid. She said if I want its done soon just pay for it. LOL Told them I wanted to take a vacation without a cracked windshield. They don't care. I guess it' s hard to get those Gorillas to make a windshield. The saga continues.

So on the fence after 2 windshields in 6 months was wondering what everyone’s take was on the gorilla glass windshields vs the regular ? Almost double the money up here in Ontario! Canada…. Better ? Or stick with the regular?

I just traded for a 24 JTR and it’s standard with the antenna in the glass. I’ll lower my deductible.

Also more expensive to replace.

Called by the dealer today that my new windshield has been approved so now I just have to wait 2 weeks for the dealer to get it. 3 weeks so far. But it will be a free $1400 repair.

The new GG windshield was installed today.Perfect job. We'll see how long this one lasts. This one was free but the next one will cost me $1400.

Even to set it incorrectly would be hard. There are plastic alignment dowels glued to the windshield that go into holes in the window frame. Thought it was neat, watched the safelight dude swap ours out, didn’t take a photo.

After two windsheilds... I tried an experiment 2 years ago. I left it cracked! Not another chip or crack in over two years! The key is to not replace it... and it will last forever!
