Ended up going with 285/70 Nittos. Definitely a rake to it, but not sure if i want to mess with a leveling kit as I've read some have needed to buy an adjustable track bar to correct axle movement.

I’ve been throwing around lift ideas myself. I only want to go with 285/75/17 since stepping up to a 35 is quite a bit more $$ per tire. Leveling kits are $100 plus another $210-220 for a track bar. That’s easier to swallow than a full lift kit for twice that plus front and rear track bars and control arms. My OCD won’t allow my rig to have off center axles no matter how minimal the level or lift causes. However, I CAN live with non extended front control arms on a level. If I were to go front and rear lift I’d have to have control arms all the way around. I’m odd like that I guess.:(

FWIW I measure my buddy’s JL on a 2 inch Mopar lift without an adjustable track bar today. It was only .5 inches shifted to one side. Maybe you can live with that.

Buy the Teraflex 1.5 and only use the 1 inch option from the two spacers that make the total 1.5. You won’t notice a 1/4 inch of offset! THis way you get a bit of extra height with no other associated concerns

Thanks everyone for the pictures. This is more difficult than I thought - first world problems, I know...

I like the looks of the 285/70/r17, but am worried that the wheel I picked out (-6 offset) will stick out too far for the height of that size tire. I would think the the 285/75r17 might look better with that width, but would probably need a small level in the front.

wheel I'm looking at:

hi what rims are in this picture. Really like them?

Stock Sport S (max tow) with 285 75 R17 on stock wheels.

How much poke do you get? Thinking about swapping my 285 70R17 tires onto the stock Sport S wheels on my Max Tow. I have too much poke with the aftermarket 17x9 wheels on my Gladiator, but don’t want to go back to the too-small oem tires.

There is almost none, I have 285/75/17s on stock wheels on a max tow.

Thanks. That’s what I wanted to hear. Although I like the look of the poke, it is impossible to keep the thing clean for more than a day. More importantly I’m frankly too old to be “that guy” who ruins other motorists paint and windshields. These would probably be perfect on a non-max tow with the narrower axles. I didn’t research enough when I took the plunge.

295/70r17 Patagonia MT Stock Sport s, Non-Max Tow, No Lift, Stock Rims It does come with a bumper for some reason that other sport s does not. I am assuming it was part of the side step add or the painted fender upcharge. Not sure. But, fits and looks perfect for my taste. Pics do not show as much of a difference that actually exists. Very happy with the look and ride/noise of these tires on the 60 mile ride home ( just got em today)

Looks great! How's this setup holding up for you? I want to put these on stock wheels on my sport s non max tow as well. I did add the Rubi shocks and springs, so no rubbing issues?
