You guys had customers who regularly opened hoods? Must be a NJ or eastern thing.
I could tell stories of vehicles that never had their hoods opened until a red light came on.

No engine cover here - but there aren't that many hoses or wires or lines to confuse people either. Pretty simple under the hood. (ignore the 3 vacuum cans, carbon canister, and vacuum lines that control the FAD switching)

Old FAD was so problematic, it's amazing they actually brought it back

What issues did you have or see? I've yet to have any issues at all with any FAD in any Eagle or Jeep vehicle. Except for the line and hose connectors and a couple of hoses - the whole FAD system in that car is original with just under 200,000 miles. It all still works. It's my 4th Eagle. (and I've worked on several others)

Heavy Wheeling with constant enabling and disabling , they dont last long or are that reliable when used. If your all highway, then they never have a problem

My Eagles got shifted in and out, in and out, a lot. No heavy wheeling, but use in Iowa with snow and ice. Here, things get shifted in and out constantly because of conditions and not having a full-time option.

Maybe the 22+ ones will hear the rocker bearings wearing out before they take a cam with them.

Just joking, assuming this was fixed in the PUG.

That is very interesting. I wonder - insurance reasons, perhaps????? (just guessing)
Not sure, but I was thinking along those lines also. She was very pleasant and nice. She was trying to be as accommodating as possible. I wasn't expecting delivery of my vehicle until the end of January or February, so her call through me off guard. I believe if she could of, she would of allowed me to pick up later, so I'm positive she is shooting straight with the 13 day rule.

These are the ones I put on my Gladiator and my wife’s Wrangler. They are perfection.
Thanks! Always nice to hear that I made a decent choice for a change.
Seriously, I hate prop rods, and sometimes I just want to open the hood, check fluid levels and make sure there's no obvious leaks before going someplace (and make sure rodents don't like it as much as I do) or like a week ago - pop it open just enough to engage the winch switch and then shut it off again when done.

Believe it or not, the engine covers on some European cars are for pedestrian safety in case you hit someone. The way the air cleaners are designed, the hood hinges, etc. I’ve even heard of under hood airbags.

I don’t the answer to your question but it sounds bogus to me. Why? Because the 3.6 engine is the same in all models of Wrangler and Gladiator. Why would there be ANY reason to equip one engine differently than another? They get them by the trainload and the same goes into all of them.
There’s a thread about this on the JL site. Some 3.6 are coming without engine covers and it seems to be a new thing. No one is sure exactly why. Possible component shortages.
