i've driven jeeps for over 20 years. used to wave. not so much any more. so many on the road i'm constantly bombarded. sorry. i just wanna drive and not worry about waving. i'll still wave at a cool rig but not some dude with drug dealer wheels and every auto zone accessory he could get his hands on.

I wonder if waving resumes when tops and doors come off....
I have noticed that you are far more likely to get a response during warm weather with tops off.

Also, apologies to anyone who has waved that I missed! I really try to wave OR return wave to every Jeep I pass. Admittedly sometimes I am yelling at the kids, dogs, etc... lol

I wave out of habit, if I'm paying attention. Often I am preoccupied with driving (in suburbia with traffic going all speeds and traffic lights that turn red as you near them) and don't have the bandwidth to pay attention to the make and model of what everyone else is driving coming the other direction.

Lots of Jeeps where I live, but I do try to wave whenever I can.

however I've stopped waving when I see an angry grill

Man can't let somebody else and their bad attitude be the reason your attitude suffers. At least that's what I work hard every day to tell myself for other reasons.

So I wave always. When I remember and am not zoned out that is. I have realized that in this particular area and generally speaking, about 80% wave or wave back to a vehicle that has anything more than stock. A lot of people wave before I get to it in my TJ though - so older jeeps of course still keeping it real.

I like the wave. Lots of 'new' jeep people couldn't care less - but to me, every time, it brings back the old days when things were a little simpler, people a little nicer, and Jeeps were a little more special.

Very passive aggressive and lots of assumptions about others for someone pretending to take the high road.

Keep on gate keeping.

I wave and I usually get a wave back. When I don’t get a wave back from a JT, sometimes it’s a rental so in those cases, I’m guessing the driver doesn’t know about the Jeep wave. In Colorado, rental cars have a red (fleet) license plate so that’s how I know.

I bought my JT already modified from the previous owner so I haven’t had this experience in the JT, but in my JK, the amount of wave-backs massively increased after I added a lift and 35s.

I use to wave back in my LJ days but no longer. Having a Jeep before meant something but now everyone and their grandma has one. No longer special.

I am new to Jeeps (at age 58) and I wave at every Jeep I pass (Wranglers/Gladiators anyway). I get a wave back about 50-60% of the time... and that's in my Sport S with skinny stock street tires. I recently picked up a set of Rubicon take-off wheels/Tires (Wildpeak A/T's) and bolted those on - and have a Teraflex 1.5" leveling kit for the front that will be going on soon. That should increase the wave-back percentage a little, but if not, whatever. I'll still be waving.

I think the lack of Jeep waves also stem from the fact that a lot of people do extremely dark tint on their Jeeps so you can't see if they are waving or they can't see you. I just wave and in my mind assume they are waving back lol.

Riding bikes is dangerous and dumb.
