My brother took a BB hit from a neighbor during one of their battles. He ended up going to the emergency room to have it removed from his forehead. The medical personnel wanted to know who shot him as they were going to call the police. They considered any size projectile a bullet wound.

Of course, he never gave him up :like:.
My BB gun battles happened back in the late 60's. It was a lot different then. Mom didn't care unless you were spurting bright red blood or your leg was bent in the wrong direction.

Hard times bred hard men. Hard men bred good times. Good times bred soft men. Soft men bred hard times.

Read an interesting take on this the other day. It's not that Hard Men go away, it's just a matter of if they are appreciated or not. Right now, they are labeled as "Toxic Masculinity" and you see hard times occurring. When that trait is appreciated again, they (arrogantly, I'll say we....) will lead us back to good times.

Agree or disagree, it's an interesting thought.

You're right, there will always be a subset in the shadows that will be ignored. It never truly goes away, it does decrease significantly though. I'll admit I'm not as hard as I was just a couple years ago. But hey, a good cooking woman and a cushy 9-5 job will do that to ya. LOL

I don't want to derail the venerable "O" with more text instead of T&A pics, but...

I personally think we (yes, I'll say arrogantly, ha) are not in the shadows at all, but the media tries to put us there. Without a need to know my race, religion, or political spectrum, all you and society need to know is that I'm an alpha male who you can count on. I have several friends who I grew up that are the same way. I have several family members who are the same way. We got you.

The media wants so bad to focus on my race, religion, or political spectrum...because it divides. Division sells. And can be controlled.

All you need to know where we are as a society is watch "Leave the World Behind" on Netflix. It's #1 movie. Look past all of the conspiracy theory crap and watch Ethan Hawke's character. I'll try to not include spoilers. He's a gullible, weak man who leaves a vulnerable woman on the side of the road, is truly lost without technology, and breaks down and cries at the pinnacle point of the movie in desperation. His wife is a ball-busting Karen who literally questions his every move and ultimately wants to be in the arms of another man.

He's far from an alpha male. But time and again, this is the character we're seeing in the media.

I know a few guys like this, but I know far more that would have taken care of their families and worked on solutions rather than cry about the problems.

What scares the living crap out of me is that there's an entire generation of kids seeing this garbage as "normal".
