We have a couple around my area, thankfully they put them in with a mix of pine trees so they don't stand out to bad, but they still look worse than a Wal-Mart Faux Christmas tree.
The new ones we are seeing are ones that are smaller and they sit on top of a light pole. Some deal with the City to replace light poles with them and pay the city for the location - seems like a win-win as a tax payer.
