Same concept for us

There are many interesting connections here - while cow tipping is urban legend, myth, Jeep tipping is not.
Farmers do not go out and try to tip their cows over, Jeep owners do appear to try to tip their Jeeps. They even have gauges to tell them how close they are to the goal.

On the other hand, some people believe that if a cow does a good job, it should be tipped.

I put a Leer topper on a couple of weeks ago, and I’m actually getting almost 2 mpg’s more. Driving habits, fuel sources, nothing has changed. I figured I’d get less, due to the weight difference between it and the bed cover I had on it before.

Okay, am I the only one who seemingly gets BETTER mileage with the windows down, or the top off, or RTT on, or the rack mounted with crap hanging off of it?
I swear anything that I do to disrupt the original aerodynamics actually improves the mpg.
I'm talking about normal highway driving 65-75 mph. Same 150 mile drive same elapsed time, etc.. I'm at 27K on the truck and have noticed this since day one, and just thought that I was nuts.
In August 2020, I bought a Jeep Gladiator and there was, before the paperwork was signed an agreement between me and the wife. It's a Jeep not a VW, and it will get shitty gas mileage. So far neither of us has had a word between us about it. Guage goes E, and I pull up to the pump. Easy....... Want some chips and a drink hon?

I’ve read that in some tests , but not Jeep or Gladiator specific:

Tonneau Cover: + 1.8 mpg
Windows down instead of a/c when under 45ishmph: + 1.6 mpg
Auto Start/stop enabled: +5 - 7 mpg driving in traffic, +10 mpg dense urban driving.

I can dig up the links, but they weren’t really good studies, just data points from some magazine testing. I had jotted those down to test with the Gladiator one day.

Top off, front doors off, I consistently see a 2-3 mpg drop with a 55mph highway driving profile as compared to same driving profile with doors on and top on. With top on, I do not see a mpg difference with windows down vs windows up and AC running.

With my rack and RTT I get close to 2mpg more. I have a Mt and have been averaging 17.2 mpg.

I keep the windows up on the highway. If I am around town or under 45 mph, I'll put the windows down, and if there is traffic, I let the stop/start do its thing.

I have a soft cover and 33's while running 3.73s. I am currently AVERAGING 21.5 mpg.

I should note that I drive the speed limit, use cruise control, and read the lights (easy brake/easy throttle).

I believe it was Caroll Shelby who said “You can’t turn a pig into a thoroughbred, but you can make a very fast pig” 😆
Truer words never said (well, maybe seldom said........)

Just let a pig or two get out of their pen and see how fast they can be.
And, they are more aerodynamic than most cows or Jeeps.
