Look at the Fumoto’s….
I had one on my 2007 Tacoma.

NOTE: I don’t know the logistics of these things on the Gladiators… but…. If you do any offroading, be mindful of how (or if) it sticks down and vulnerable to being hit when offroading.

You can manipulate the 90 degree nipple to move it up and out of the way after changing oil and the valve is in closed position. Still have to use a tool but it makes oil changes so much cleaner. Great if you have no maintenance garage and wind or just general “I’m a dude who makes a mess every time I change oil”……… Not that I have ever had that problem. :lipssealed:

I have valvomax on my gladiator. Like it better than the fumoto valve. Like the fact I can buy the valvomax container to attach to the drain hose for a no mess oil change.

Been using the fumoto on mine since I bought it in 2021. Makes oil changes effortless. At some point I used a different container to discard my old oil so it leaves me with an empty 5 qt everytime I do an oil change. Heat the motor up, run the hose from the valve directly into the 5 qt container, empty and replace. Literally takes 10 mins and not a drop anywhere. Change the filter while its draining (i run the filter adapter instead of cartridge)

Aftermarket skid plates will cover this

Fumoto guy here also. Of the two mentioned, I think the ValvoMax design is better than the Votex. ValvoMax has a check ball design where as the Votex is a poppet relying on a O-Ring to keep the seal.

We use the Votex - Oil Drain Valve on both the Gladiator and Wrangler.
Very easy to drain the oil into an old 5 qt jug then return the old oil when I buy a new 5qts (saving the newest empty 5qt jug for next oil change).

Since the ValvoMax looks the same except it has the cap retainer, I would go with the ValvoMax if I were buying now.

I have the Femco which is akin to the valve max. Ive had them onb3 trucks now, 2 Cummins and now the glad. Simple mess free oil changes done in 15 20 min oil and filter. The screw on tube that opens the drain valve and pours the waste oil into the container is super easy to use. Just be sure your waste oil container has available capacity.....

Looks identical to the Fumoto valve
Internal wise it is the same design. Where the EZ-Drain differs is that they use a o-ring seal on the threaded base and the outlet is also threaded allowing various nipples to be put on or taken off where the Fumoto's are fixed. EZ-Drain's have a slightly better flow rate with a larger internal valve opening.

Some see the EZ-Drain as a counterfeit or knock off of the Fumoto but that leaves out the fact that Fumoto's patents for their basic valve have long expired and open for anybody to copy and bring to market. The EZ-Drain is made in China vs. Japan for the Fumoto but it is better built than some of the blatant cheaper China made knock offs that actually try to pass for a Fumoto valve.

I put a Fumoto on my JT and have had one on an '04 Excursion since, 2004. Especially with the Ex. it's an easy drain into gallon jugs and all you do is lay there and switch jugs; plenty of room. With it, a vinyl hose was just a pain.

With the JT, it doesn't have the space laying under it that the Ex does, but same deal, just draining off into the old qt bottles, although I'll probably start using gallon jugs. It's just not as easy to move around switching jugs and flipping the valve. I'll likely use a vinyl hose next time.

Yes, I know.....the JT now requires a lift for more efficient oil changes. :like:
