I've included some of these pics in other posts, but I'll get into more detail of what I did because, well this is a DIY write-up section!!

Here's what I'll disucss:
  • Key fob slot phone charger holder

Phone Charger/Holder:
I give credit for the idea to @Aarorei.
My phone fits perfectly in the key fob holder, so I 3D printed a device to mount in the slot, then ran a USB-C cable through that. Simple plug and play from now one!

I do the 3D design using Autodesk Fusion 360. It's a professional design software tool and is free for hobbyist use.
I use Cura for slicing the 3D models and print them on a Monoprice MP Select Mini v2 printer. It's a great inexpensive printer that I've been using for years.

Everything looks great, but I don't want you to take this the wrong way - You should try to run that iPhone cable under the cup holder by drilling a hole in it and running it through the belly of the center console all the way to the charger - I would think it would look real nice without that cable dangling there... The blue contrast with the white looks amazing :)

Thanks! Anti-iPhone here, but nonetheless I agree with that tactic! Hidden wires are key!

Here's what I'll disucss:
  • Custom decals
  • Painted tow hooks
  • Stubby Antenna
  • Tinted windows
  • Key fob slot phone charger holder
  • 4x8 support rails

Decals:
  • I use Silhouette Studio and the Silhouette Cameo 3 vinyl cutter to design and create all my custom decals.
  • The vinyl I use is Oracal 651 which is a outdoor grade vinyl. The colors I used are Traffic Blue and Matte Black.

Painted Tow Hooks:
I love the red tow hooks on the Rubicon and wanted to do something similar.
It was a simple process of covering the truck, taping around the hooks, giving it a brief sanding with 220, then two coats of Rustoleum Gloss Deep Blue. Turned out like factory-made!

Stubby Antenna:
I bought the following antenna on Amazon and painted it with the same tow hook paint.

IMG_20190606_121408_1.jpg

Window Tinting:

I bought a 10' roll of 20% VLT on Ebay. I tinted the front door windows to match the rear. I also put the same tint on the rear window. IMO the rear wasn't dark enough because I felt like people could easily see into the cab because that window is much closer in a truck. I really wanted to tint the windshield but it's not worth risking the ticket from the law :)

4x8 Support rails:
Nothing too special here. I just wanted these to look good so I painted the supports to match the bed.
The rear 2x4's are screwed together and tapered at the bottom for a tight fit in the bed. What I've grown to like with these is that they compartmentalize the bed so I can put groceries, etc in the back so they don't fly around everywhere!

I'm concerned about bending the plug on the bottom of the phone set up like that... how deep does your phone sit, are you happy with how secure it feels?

That being said, my plan for tech inside is the Vector OffRoad Dock. You could definitely add some blue to that.

The 3D insert sits at the bottom of the main compartment if you know what I mean. There is still a good space under that where the cable sits without too much bending. It's not perfect, but it works.

Someone needs to market that lightening port set up for between the cup holders! I don't have a 3D printer...

I fear I will have a helluva time finding the right color to match my Punk'n, to accent the hooks and grille the way you did.

I've never considered owning a vinyl printer until now. Great looking mods and has given me a lot of inspiration for my new BW Sport S. Tks!

That is just a blue vinyl inlay :)
Did you literally just cut a long strip of blue vinyl and meticulously run it around the emblem?
