Anybody live in a HOA? Any hassles? I’m wondering if mine would consider this an RV. I’ll have to ask them.
Not a lawyer, but "RV" is a legal definition of a vehicle class that even slide-in campers don't meet, much less our toppers. If they complain about it being an RV, ask them to specify what class of RV then (B, C, etc.).

On the upside, most people that ask me about the topper are surprised there's a bed in there, even with the obvious cabover.

Nobody complains about mine and the HOA is a bunch of ninny's.
What do you have?

First post. Wanted to share some pics of the OVRLND camper build and some Jeep pics. The camper build is working great, love it!

Very nice and "simple" build which keeps most of the limited bed space open. are you using a propex heater? any pics of how you have that set up?

Yup. Propex HS2000. I drilled holes in the bottom of the bed for the intake and exhaust. Fab’ed up some feet that screwed into existing tapped holes in the heater for mounting. Then strapped it in.

So where the bed slide is I've been thinking about hanging it so at that point all I have to do is lift it up and it's out of the way. Also keeps me from having to fold up my bedding everytime I want to make the space more liveable.
Edit: Not hanging it hinging it! Fat thumbs 😡

Any of you ever drive with the barn door halves open or just one open? I know what ovrlnd tells us but just looking for any real world experience.

Going to cut a Christmas tree this weekend and was thinking about leaving one open and lock out or maybe both open but strapped together from the inside with the tree hanging out the middle.

There would be some freeway speeds 60-65.

Hard pass on that. Although I never have. I would say no.

I've gone up to about 55-60 on some back roads with them open. They held. I think I've read on the FB forum that some people have gone up to 70. Not sure I would trust that unless I really secured the the sides open with some wire to keep them from popping loose and swinging open.

Anyone ever thought about bolting the camper to the bed instead of the clamps?

I've thought about it but have not. I remember they gave me the option when I picked it up, sometimes I wish I had. I know a guy who did that on his gladiator and it's a very clean set-up.

I'm not against bolting, but just haven't seen the need after using the clamps for 3ish years. I even use them as attachment points to stabilize my shelf setup.
