Dealer called me back today. Said they got Chrysler to agree to fix the spot on my hood that is the size of my thumbnail. They will only fix the single spot that is there. The total job cost is $2400. They want me to pay $467 of that. I told them I will call back Monday with an answer. Anyone have any input. I inquired to be sure that he didn't mean the whole hood and his response was " no, that is to fix the spot only ".
I would want to see the messaging on what Chrysler agreed to. $2400 and for it not to be the whole hood makes me think the dealership is shorting the job to make even more money.

My Gladiator isn’t 2 years yet and I have rust bubbles on hood edge and a door edge.
Hood and doors are aluminum.

My hood edges has the bubbling too. I need to take it in and make a claim.

A few months ago I noticed the paint on the edge of my 2022 hood starting to show corrosion in a couple of places. My dealer took some pictures and sent them in for warranty approval but apparently the request was kicked back because they did not submit enough information. I spoke with dealership today and they'd like me to leave it with them for a day to better document the problem and get everything sent in. I don't mind doing that but things at work are hectic so I'm holding off for at least a couple of weeks.

The problem isn't bad yet and is only showing on the driver's side edge of the hood. From what I've read this is covered for 5 years and unlimited miles, is that correct? I'm currently a little over 34,500 miles and the Jeep will turn 3 in a couple of months. I will get it back to the dealer for proper documentation before it rolls over 36K miles or 3 years. Right now it isn't bad enough that it bothers me and I'd rather wait at least a few months to see if corrosion shows up on the door hinges then get it all done at once. Is there a reason I should get the hood taken care of now rather than wait?

That's what my hood looks like. I have tha Granite Crystal Grey and didn't notice until I felt it one time while hand cleaning the truck.

Ask to see the messaging??? Come on do you think they would ever show me that? It is a take it or leave it offer. They say they have never heard of anyone getting anything being being 1 month and 13 days out of warranty.

I first noticed a spot on mine the first of June last year and it was small, about 1" long and 1/4" tall. Around the middle of July when I showed it to the dealer it was noticeably bigger and another spot had started a few inches away from the first. When I finally took it in for repair around the first of the year that first spot was over 4" long and the second was about 2". The repair shop my dealer used ended up having it for 10 days. It would have only been 5 days but they weren't happy with the way it looked the first time so they ended up stripping and painting it twice. I am very happy with the way it turned out.

My dealer wanted to send it to the FORD DEALER across the county. I have told them no way. I said it sounds like a ripoff. They want me to pay for the no guarantee spot repair while they take the money from Jeep and put it in their pocket.

Had the wifes JLUR fixed last year (2019 JLUR) so it was towards the end of her corrosion warranty. Rear hatch door, all four doors and hood were redone, they actually replaced the hood completely. $0.00 out of my pocket. Going to line my 20 JTR for this year to get my issues fixed, what I’ve found so far are hood edge and two doors that have the issue. I would not give a dealer a penny out of pocket

The local shop that stripped and painted my entire hood was paid $1,985 and it was completely covered. I agree with Hootbro, something doesn't add up

So far my 23 Gladiator is good. My two month old Silverado however has the paint peeling off of the roof.
Is the problem the new paints that are supposed to be environmentally friendly?

I have a local shop that looked at it and quoted $1400. They will strip and treat for corrosion, and repaint. LIFETIME GARAUNTEE. They do great work and do stand behind it. I plan on letting it go until summer then having them do the work. If the hinges start they will do that also but so far so good on those.

My biggest frustration are these bubbles that just popped up on my tailgate. They popped up over night. Anyone seen anything like these before?

IMG_5221.jpeg
They are popping all over the paint in my 2020. As of today my claim has not being approved or denied since November or December 2024.'So NO luck on my side. I own several cars and have owned a lot and never had an issue like this. It started on the tailgate but now I have them in the bed sides, doors and on both B pillars.

Take it to another dealership with a body shop on site, took me two different dealerships to get it approved by Jeep.

I don't have time to run all over the state and I shouldn't have to. I am done with this dealer and all the rest. The warrantees are full of loop holes and questionable wording that give much room for individual interpretation. I have had a few other problems that the dealer was less than responsive to that I solved on my own. This problem will be no different. When it is all said and done I will have a better truck with no lingering issues with the paint.
