I made a checklist in Google Keep Notes. You can categorize them such as Present, Test, etc. as some you want to verify it's there, others you want to test. I sort of got mine jumbled all up as I built it over a week as things popped in my head. It's not all encompassing and has some duplicates.

You can also ask for a copy of the dealer's inspection sheet, if you want to trust what they've already done, or just to have a list to go by.

Just curious How people that purchased from dealers hours away handle this?

I drove to a local hotel for the night and also to a local museum the next day, which in theory helps the diff cool after a few short drives, then I drove home via stop 'n go local roads for part of the trip before finally getting onto the interstate. And check the owner's manual for break-in info as well. But the owner's manual does not mention letting the diff cool every now and then, so who knows what's right...

Things I didn't get with mine were the tool kit and the Bluetooth speaker (if that's still an option?). I bought mine off the lot so it had the speaker as an option but it wasn't there. Took them a week to "find it". ie. order me new one and ship it directly to me. It probably was in one of the work bays blasting some tunes! ?

Mine didn't have the took kit either. I make them rob another unit before I left the lot. Then again, I had been there 7hrs...on a Sunday and it was 9:30pm...they were wanting to go home...LOL

Have the dealer run it through the car wash a couple of times to inspect for the now "famous" rear hardtop window leak.

check tire pressure. mine had 40psi

Oh, yeh this is a good one. When I got my wrangler they were set to 44psi. Absolutely insane.

Little things, my dealer overlooked the order of anti theft wheel bolts.

I usually take my Scangauge and before signing papers make sure there are no stored MIL/CEL (provided other obvious things check out). I also check for coolant levels and no obvious leaks or oil stains in the engine compartment.

if its nice out, dont drive it off the lot with top down. I have had this terrible wind noise coming through door seal that i didnt hear from the lot bc it was nice and i immediatly put the top down. After being in the shop 4 times, they told me it cant be fixed and i have to live with it.
