Did Fins in a stock JTR, dragged a few times. I used a hitch skid since I also tow, not worried about the hitch, more the chain loops.

I still highly recommend Shafer if the weather permits. And Long canyon is a great photo op. Can get rough above the rock.

Based on your profile, are you driving from Idaho? I still want to get to Buckhorn wash and seems to be on the way from Idaho... some great pictographs there.

If you are still going to Arches remember the back way via Willow Springs Dinosaur Tracks if the entrance is backed up. I think timed entry has lapsed.

Gaia app is also worth it,
you can download maps and Tracks to follow when you don’t have cell coverage. it’s saved me a few times.

A buddy and I are hoping to make a trip to Moab in 2023. We are trying to decode if we should do EJS or show up a few weeks later to avoid the crowds. In a way I want to do it with EJS just to join in the camaraderie, but at the same time I want to be in a smaller group where we can move a bit faster.

If we do not go with EJS, we may look at trying to entice some of the guys who have posted here who know the trails and paying for your gas, food, etc to show us around.

I will be in a JTM with 3” lift and 35s. I am planning to go to 37s when they wear out, but not sure if it will be before then. My buddy is in a JTR with a 2.5” lift and 35s.

Gone are the days of Moab not being crowded unfortunately, whenever you decide to go. It's still a good experience whenever you go. (Those of us that are part of the EJS event just got our finalized trail assignments yesterday in the mail. Registration for EJS is coming up in a few weeks!)

Speaking to the gaia maps app comment above. I'm quite under the weather this past week but the bonus of that is I can get some things done I've been putting off for years. Gaia seems like a great integration with Android auto in the JT with how much time I've been able to invest into it. I downloaded all the gpx files of the trails I'm assigned and the ones I intend to register for. Seems very cool so far

I’m four hours from Moab, and was there 5 times this year. I’m always up for that trip. Just went the 2nd weekend in October with 4 other forum members. Great trip. We did poison spider and top of the world. Two rigs were stock on 33’s. No issues. No damage. I find it very fun to find the right lines for different rigs. That trip sharpened my skills a bit, as I let my friend do almost all of the driving in mine. So I was spotting someone with no experience. It was great fun.
Did I read that right? 2 rigs on 33s did Top of the world?! That’s awesome!

I was hesitant on doing TOTW in my Mojave on 35s. Was thinking of getting a small puck lift but sounds like it’s very doable.

You absolutely did. One stock Willy’s with a roof top tent, one stock Mohave, one rubicon with 2” lift, and two rubicons on 37’s with lifts in the 3.5 range. All rigs made it with no damage, and really no question that they would. I hope I’m not speaking for everyone, but I think everyone had a great time. You’d do it without issue with a Mohave on 35’s. Just pick your line and have a spotter.

And that crew did Poison spider as well, probably more easily than TOTW.

The other rig I’m going with is a great spotter so not concerned in that respect.

My JT is also my daily so lean towards less risk...but this is too cool to pass up.

Thank you!!

Mine is too. But I plan on doing the remainder of the Moab badges in ‘23. These things do so well.
