As an aside. I grew up with a 12 ft sloop that I used to sail around alone. When I turned 16 I started bringing it places. I learned to back that short little trailer pretty well over the years. So that when I was about 20 a friend brought me with him to put his 30 foot go-fast boat in.

He told me to back it in. I was freaked out. "You don't get it do you", he asked?? Huh??

Then he explained to me that little trailers jackknife much faster when backing. That backing a long trailer is actually much easier. Low and behold it was a piece of cake.

Now I have a 8x5 utility trailer that is even shorter. It keeps me sharp. ha.
(BTW - that 20 year old Volvo is rated to tow 3850 lbs, which it does very well)
