Sorry for the potentially dumb question but I want to be sure I know what I'm agreeing to before I throw my hat in the ring...

Regarding the first pic, are all of these accessories included (crossbars, toolboxes, etc) or are these options available?
No worries and no such thing considering we're all thinking about sending a couple grand halfway around the world.

The $1725 landed cost I was quoted was for a Type 1 cap with solid panel side doors, internal "molle" panel on those doors, load bars, two internal compartments with shelves (they're half shelves, not full length), rear window security mesh. This was all for transit from China to the US, then cross country shipping to the Baltimore Metro, tariffs included. Per Ruby, the caps come with all the hardware as well as weatherstripping. I am not entirely certain these come with a tube of RTV to seal everything but TBF you can get that from your local NAPA for cheap.

I suspect those of you on the west coast may get a little bit better of a price on that final number but if we combine and fill more space in a container the overall China-US shipping cost goes down.

I would like solid sides with front and rear glass (sliding for the front) if I was going this route.
I have it marked in my spread sheet for pricing.

What type of bars on top are you looking at? Unistrut style or something else?

Unistrut style base on the cap, then these.

Part of me wonders if I could swap a Yakima style lower profile track on instead of the Unistrut thing but that would be a visit to my local REI and a game time decision upon arrival. If so I've got some HD Yakima bars that could get a new home.

I'm going to be putting this on ice until later this evening, ive got meetings until after 5pm. So far I have several interested and several in on my spreadsheet. Once I get more info I may create a Google Doc to fill in the blanks,.

I like the unistrut style. Honestly I'd just make two more cross bars out of more unistrut to attach stuff to, lol.

Man. You got my gears turning. I am penciling in a trip to Colorado next year and was thinking about buying another used RTT and crossbars for that trip - but I can't use gear like that in Louisiana often. But I would use a cap non stop, especially with side boxes.

Then I could get one of those tent things that goes over the tailgate and sleep in the bed for my Colorado trip / other trips.

About to text my ole lady and tell her some guy on the internet is gonna force me to send two grand to someone in China for truck parts.

I thought about Unistrut on this end but I think the breakdown for the cross bars from them was around $50. By the time I get the struts and mounting hardware I'm there. Convenience wins.

I had a cap on my Taco that I thought I'd pop on and off as needed but it hardly ever left the bed and frankly was far more convenient than I'd thought. With the tonneau I'm very limited to what I can and can't carry, and a shorter bed means I have to be VERY judicious at that. Having a cap again means stuff gets better organized in the bed and more secure leaving more room in the cab for me, her and the mongrel.

Not sure exactly what I'm looking at on these spreadsheets.
Can you just list shipped pricing here for everyone?

I think you're going to be waiting a while- best I can tell is OVS is discontinuing the canopy for a combination RTT/topper.

I screwed around with some prototyping on Send Cut Send the other night before I stumbled onto this seller. You might be able to have them custom made but it would need to be two separate pieces that bolt together.

That said I'll certainly send you the measurements. I originally only planned on one side box but for the price getting both just made sense.
OVS is retaining there different levels and options with the addition of conversion kit for the tent to make it an Excursion Camper versus the Expedition Cap. Great products, they're extremely just slow to stock/market from initial advertisement.

Sorry, it was all translated using AI and took a couple versions to get something workable.

Far as full pricing: Working on it. It's almost midnight now there, I'll be circling back with her tomorrow. I just sent off a massive request for pricing on individual items based on what I could see and what others have DM'ed me.

I have asked for detailed specs and pricing on the following:

270, 180, 90 degree awnings with PVC (soft) bags, black awning material, internal lighting and appropriate annex room walls for each.

Tents: Aluminum cases only, but I can add ABS plastic if that's your request.

Option 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 14. This covers the 3 gens of wedge styles in the sheet, including the x-braced versions as well as one side-open. If there are multiple sizes of these (many of the wedges) then pricing for both.

Questions I've asked:

-Are these able to handle additional load bars/weight.
-Some wedges are pictured with a skylight window over the rear awning, confirming this is available.
-Fabric colors (black again most likely the cheapest)
-Some have solar panels in the pics, again confirming if this is included or not (probably not but worth asking).
-internal lighting
-season rating (3-4?)
-port for a heater/AC unit
-internal storage
-on the X-brace versions, front window (at your feet)

That said, if there's a variation on something you see in the spreadsheet outside of these, let me know and I'll get the info.

I haven't run out and measured but best I can tell the 210cm length tents will fit in behind the Freedom Panels and ought to allow a Sunrider to operate...

What a shame! Sounds like those of us on the east coast may have to drive out to Cali, install them there, and have to do a durability test through Moab...

I'll keep you posted regarding my decision but I appreciate you spearheading this!

If this goes forward and someone gets those internal shelves I’d love to get some basic dimensions. Been waiting for OVS to put some out but so far it hasn’t happened. I’d like that option on 1 side of my current cap but not getting rid of a perfectly working cap to replace it with another cap.
Update to this statement: OVS stated they should be coming out with the shelving this fall. Also said come on up to see em if I get the chance. Their storefront is only about an hour away from me.

Sorry for the threadjack.

Back to regularly scheduled programming.

Just wondering. Have you checked in on buying a bed slider from Alibaba? I would probably buy in on that one.

I did only in passing. There's a ton of manufacturers out there though and also on Aliexpress. I dont need a permanent slide, something like these things will be fine because I still use it as a truck.https://a.co/d/090pFptb

If that ever changes then I'd likely just build a custom drawer setup out of baltic birch.
