This is my 3rd pump to go in 90k kms. Happened yesterday coming home. I’m real good at strong arm steering so it was no big deal, but COME ON?!

Got it home and checked fluid levels and pulled the top ground post wire behind the passenger headlight and cleaned up the mating surfaces but that didn’t do anything. My next “fix” is to get my hands on the high amp Z Fuse array and replace that hopefully this morning if I can locate one. I’ve ordered one on line as a back up to have.

I recall in another post on the same issue it was suggested the the power steering pump is fused at the Z fuse. Upon reading the fuse box lid, I didn’t see the PS pump mentioned there. Can anyone confirm this?

Make sure F34 isn't blown.

Located the Zcase fuse at a dealership close to me. $124 cad. I’ll swing on over there shortly and swap that out and see what happens. Let’s hope it doesn’t explode and burn to the ground. ?

The main power line does go to the N6 terminal on the fuse array.

If you fuse array is bad on the N6 leg, may have to ask what is popping that and look towards the power steering pump motor or wiring.

I would also suggest checking power at Fuse F34 in the run position. If no power, might be a relay issue.

I just downloaded that, good info for pinouts later, thank you.

Got the Z fuse replaced and pump is still dead. So with engine running I checked F34 with the reader and it reads 00.1/.2 The numbers dance back and forth .1 -.2

I assume you meant F34, not F35?

I would check the other fuses that are control by the K08 RUN/START relay like F49, F40, F32, F41, F22 and F33. If you have voltage on all those and not on F34, then you may have a PDC issue.

You have any ABS warnings? That F34 branches off to both the power steering control and ABS module. If no power was coming out of F34, it should fail both.

Edit: I am assuming you are versed with using a multimeter?

No ABS warning light. Yes, I’m good with the multimeter. No ABS module issues noted on my OBD2 either

That Jeep really does hate you.
It’s probably been a wiring harness problem all along, perhaps. But you know what has fought back against all the hate my Jeep has for me? It’s been all the luv’n I get from this community ?
