What gear brand does everyone prefer and why? I think I had seen one video where the installer liked the gears sets from Currie (Currie Legacy) for the gladiator factory AdvanTEK axles. I know there are several other options out there. Curious to hear thoughts/opinions from others.

I cant really speak to their quality because I sent them back, but alot of places online had me believe Yukon gears were made in the USA, I was sent made in China parts. I would have pretty much been ok with them being made anywhere else lol.

I've heard good things about Revolution. But you cant go wrong with Dana.

I would talk to a local driveline shop and order from them what they use. Or if you aren't doing the install yourself then have the shop doing the work order the parts from mfr's they trust.

I would add, talk to driveline/axle shops first before going to general repair shops.

I've used Currie a couple times with decent results until my last set I went back to Dana never had an issue using Dana gears

Didn't the Currie Legacy branded gears just come out?
There new we've done 4 or 5 sets of gears this year only issue we had 1 Jl they were noisey we build usually 6 to 8 a year by build I mean 3 inch lift 37's and a set of gears usually on used Jeep or truck with miles to spruce it up . My personal Jeeps all have Dana gears always stick with I've used in the past if it works

I've always used and recommended Dana Spicer for Dana axles.

I like Currie stuff. I figured their gears were probably pretty high quality.

Does Richmond not venture into the 4x4 world? Back in my drag racing days we had Richmond Gear and Auburn Carriers on speed dial.

Revolution or Dana. Either set of gears will set up great and will be quiet.

From my experience, I'd say avoid Yukon like the plague. Lots of reported issues. They only have a 1 year warranty. The pinion gear grenaded with no warning after about 40k miles (50 k total on the Jeep) while I was driving to work (yesterday - 12/16/2024). That second pic is inside the diff - that pile you see is what is left of Yukon pinion gear.

I'll be going with Spicer gears on the rebuild.

When the Yukon shit, shit on me, I went with Richmond dirt track gears. They said, they will be loud......BUT they won't fail and have a lifetime warranty. I fucking punished them after the break in period and the just kept eating......wish I had gone with them from the get go
