I found my new 2023 Rubicon on Autotrader a year ago this month. It was listed nearly 30% off. All said and done it was 26.5% off msrp if I recall. I had to pay a few hundred here and there in dealer annoyances but I considered it "fuck you, just give me the keys" money instead of walking out and perhaps going to another dealer and continuing my search. I badly NEEDED another vehicle at the time or I probably would have. All in all, the dealer experience was not too bad. I'd even consider using that dealer again.
It should be said that I went through a brief period of serious buyer's remorse because of the price and the uncertainty if it was really the vehicle I wanted. I knew that once I bought it I had to be committed, because I was going to take a bit of a bath on depreciation even with the good purchase price. I am happy to report that I LOVE this Jeep! The buyer's remorse is gone and I have put 15k miles on her in the first year.
Sitting here this morning I thought I'd pull up Autotrader and see what new Rubicons are priced at, and how the deals compare to a year ago. My criteria are exactly the same as last year. Brand new Rubicon, nationwide search. It's kind of shocking. Here's why: I see 2024 models brand new listed for as much as 38% off msrp, and many thousands less than I paid for my 2023. $63k and change msrp, asking price $39k and change. All I can say is WOW. There are better deals on 2024 models than there were on 2023 models a year ago. Happy shopping for those who are in the market. I bet you can get a swinging deal.
