Doc fee is always just gravy for the dealer, but at least in Texas, that line item is capped at $150. I suppose either way, it ought to be factored in as part of the overall discount off MSRP (to compare out-the-door pricing nationally between dealers for these leftover '23s).The only additional fee in my deal was a $699 doc, otherwise State tax, title and registration. When considering that I received 28.8% off MSRP... again this was almost 2 months ago. Wish I would have waited
I was told years ago by a "trusted" dealership insider that a doc fee was money in the pocket for dealership owner.
I would much rather pay that 56k at 0% then 45k at 10%…..your payments are still gonna be much better than the deals now….so feel great about itI paid 56k for mine in late 21 but there weren't many deals back then. I did get 0% financing for 36 months so that saved me a bundle.
Those are really high rates. Most places are under 7% now.Can I ask how you guys are dealing with the crazy interest rates right now 9,10,11 %? IMO besides the 24 coming out that’s the reason for the discounts being what they are. Are you just planning on refinancing when they drop and dealing with it for now? Or are you guys paying for them in full?
I fortunately was able to pay cash. I had a 2020 JTR trade in which was 38K. I owned it so no payoff. I'm not sure I would have been looking to buy with the current interest rates. That's a lot of money that you will never get back in equity. Can I ask how you guys are dealing with the crazy interest rates right now 9,10,11 %?
