I don't know where I picked all this crap up , I only fill at shell, mobil and rarely Gulf.. washed it out and dried the cap. 16,500 on this filter.

It had a slight grit to it, did not stay suspended in fluid. I thought it may have been rust?

The rust-looking stuff is diesel algae.

Good fuel doesn’t matter if the place is a low-traffic fuel stop. When i drove diesels I’d only stop at high-traffic stores where i knew the diesel was sold often.

Had the cp4 replaced under recall about 1300 miles ago. Finally warmed up enough for me to replace it now that it's required every 10k instead of the 20k I was planning on following.

No, they don't change the filter as a part of the recall. Oil is between 6-10k

I have my own tanks. Go through about 1000 gallons a month. Tank filters changed every three months. Other than Hurricane Ian, never had a fuel problem (IAN filled a bunch of water into the tanks).

Every truck/machine gets fuel filter(s) changed at each oil change

New requirement is every oc or 10k. This was my first filter with 11k on it. Significantly cleaner.
