Is it worth "pre-emptively" buying a fuel pump and installing it yourself?

I was at the dealer yesterday having the Tail Gate recall done. i asked about the fuel pump recall. The service manager said that they have no idea on when the parts will be available. He has call FCA and they gave him no answer.

Hey Rusty, how long did it take to get the tailgate recall done? Is it something you can wait there on, like an oil change?

Took them about 30 minutes to do it. Took longer to do the paperwork.
