Question/Pic Request - 33's on a Sport S or 80AE w/1.5 leveling kit, or 35's w/2.5 RC lift kit?

Hi everyone! I'm a first time Jeep owner and new to the forum - so be gentle please! I'm looking to get bigger wheels/tires for my 2021 80th Anniversary Edition Gladiator, and could use a little advice. I've narrowed it down to two options, and would love to get some opinions/advice and pics of your trucks with similar setups. The main goal is to give my truck a more aggressive look, and do a little bit of light off-roading. Here's what I'm considering -

• Teraflex 1.5" leveling kit with
• 33" tires
• 17" Fuel Zephyr wheel

-OR-

• Rough Country 2.5 Lift kit
• 35" tires
• 17" Fuel Zephyr wheel

If you just want to go 33’s you don’t need the leveling kit. Heres my sport s with 33’s. I do plan on getting the 1.5” leveling kit too just to level out the front end.

How much total lift did you get with that set up? I have the JTR take off suspension laying in my garage but I’m afraid I’ll get too much lift and my truck won’t fit in the garage. I’m thinking I might just do the leveling kit and throw on the rubicon shocks.

Here’s my Sport S w/ Max Tow on 33s and Teraflex 1.5” level kit. I’d say if you’re already interested in 35s then go for that now rather than later.

Thanks guys, nice looking trucks BTW! I'm definitely leaning toward 35's. From what I've been seeing it's going to require the 2.5 lift, right? Will I need to do anything in the back?

If you lift 2.5” in the front you would want to add something to the rear or it would most likely sit high in the front. Most of the gladiators I’ve seen come from the factory sitting about 1.5” higher in the rear.

I have a 21’ Texas Trail, 35’s with stock suspension. No rubs or issues.

Yea OP, there’s a bunch of folks on the forum running 35s with no lift or just a level kit. Another aspect for you to consider if you go the 35s route is gearing. There’s plenty of threads about that on here lol. Some people claim they don’t mind 3.73 gears on 35s however. It’s all preference I suppose.

Also don’t sleep on the mopar 2” lift kit. I’ve heard great things about that product. Good luck!

Rubicon suspension, tires, & spacers got me 3 inches overall. Rake went from 2 inches to .75. It’s exactly 3 inches taller on the roofline.

You can get away with 35"s at stock height depending on width of tire and/or rim tire combo.

Personally, I would go with the 2" AEV spacer lift and 35"s.

OMG...where have you been! Don't you know anything? You started off all wrong with the 80th Anniversary Edition...trade it in...NOW...no matter the cost to your pocketbook...JOKE! Welcome to the Club...there are definitely others that know more than you (and me)...but, be like me...set out to stump the experts...with your honest questions/comments. IMHO, I would go with the Mopar 2" lift, 33 tires and the 17 x 8/8.5 wheels you desire...others on here can give you advice re. backspacing, etc. Down the road you can always go with bigger tires using the wheels you already have (minor mods) if you decide. Try to keep close to factory wheel/tire weight, as higher weights will add additional stress to suspension and steering components. Will be less possible altercations with factory warranties if you go with the Mopar lift.
