Why the heck did they use open chucks at the end?

Since they are open, does that mean you could also use it to deflate all tires to a desired pressure at the same time as well?

Should equalize all tires to same psi as well

Yes but the issue is you’ll need 4 people to pull the chucks at the same time.

Oh man, the reviews are pretty bad on that stuff (except the gauge). Guess you really do get what you pay for.
$20 plus replace with closed chucks. I’d give it a try out of curiosity.

I decided to take the plunge and buy this and the chucks that I mentioned above. Both got here this week so did some work and testing. For a little over $35.00 with tax it was worth the try. the hoses are 1/4" outside diameter 100 psi hose and the fittings are quick disconnects. One of the hoses had a bend near q fitting so I cut that 1" piece off to get rid of a potential weak spot in the hose. I switched out the chucks using Loctite 545 thread sealant which was a 5-10 minute job. The new fittings had a rubber bushing at the bottom of the threads which I haven't noticed before in other fittings. I know the old ones did not have them.

First test - pressure tested to 100 PSI with my garage compressor. There were no leaks at any fitting or in any hose.

Second test - I decided how it would work airing up all 4 tires. using my Staun deflators I aired all 4 tires tires (37" KO2 Load range C on stock rims) to 18 psi. I used my home made on-board air made from an MV-50 compressor I purchased around 2005 and an 80-120 pressure switch. I set the Taser tire fill to 34 psi and gave it a go. The time to inflate all 4 tires from 18 to 34 psi was 13:27 (approximately). This was a little slower than when I air up individually, 3:15 per tire, so it was a little slower.

Third test - storage. I don't like to add extra bags if not needed. Surprisingly, this fit in my hose bag from bucket boss that I use to store my current air hoses so no added bag and very little extra volume.

We will see how long term testing goes.

I got the same air compressor. Got it from Target back in 2008. Paid $49,00 for it.

I would do that I think.
Only issue I see is those squiggly hoses always tangle on me and they're a bear to untangle..
