I have both a JL and a JT. I am not going to argue with you about what I know. My information came from an engineer. I was providing insight. You could always contact Dana and get the same information I just provided.

I'm not saying your wrong. I'm not saying JL and JT aren't exact in some cases. But your showing info for aftermarket Dana AdvanTek axles. Ultimate or not, its not a Mopar factory axle. Have no front FAD is key point. The only reason I'm being picky is because he has an LSD. If it was an open diff or E locker, it wouldn't really matter. But fuckin up his LSD by using half the friction modifier or running oil to heavy or to light based off of an aftermarket spec sheet. That's doing OP a disservice. Sure an Engineer on the phone can say its fine. But will they pay for the axle if they are wrong? Dana has great resources, but they don't sell factory axles or state factory axles specs to us. Only Stellantis. With a factory vehicle that doesn't belong to me, I'm not gonna recommend aftermarket specs over the user manual. Your insight is great, but also misleading to those just looking for factory specs for bone stock stuff. If this was a request for oil recommendations based off of excessive towing or similar use. Than your insight is perfect. Again I'm not trying to be rude or say that your completely wrong and unfounded. I'm just saying its not the answer OP is looking for. I couldn't imagine the guilt if someone came back to the forum ranting with an expensive failed component because they took my insight as law over the manufacturer specs.

Now, on the Trac-Loc, I've got a few axles with them. I have always added Limited Slip additive when a change of gear oil. In my "older generation D-44s" and a D-35 now what does this have to do with anything well one in in 1990 XJ and #2 is in 05 LJ both still functional as Limited Slip between them there is close to or over 400,000 miles on them. This is the "Stuff" I've been using since 90s in Trac-Loc equipped axles. Is it the best I don't know or say it is. 🤔 :like:

THANK YOU as well for the help.

I’m gonna default and say get the Mopar stuff. You can get it cheap on Amazon. In the manual I sent you, it should have a spec or requirement for the friction modifier to meet.

So the aftermarket Dana 44 5.13 AdvanTEK gears I have in my JTR are not compatible with my factory Dana 44?

Well, I do understand and would do the same. The ones I was filling were long past warranty. ;) One not even under factory warranty, I installed it myself with 4:56 gears.

Why wouldn’t they fit? I’m not saying they are two completely different entities with no matching size components. They are both Dana 44s. But just cus OP and I have M220s does that mean we can both run the same oil or axle shafts. Mines wide track so the axle shafts are longer. And e locker so not friction modifier needed. The little variables, that’s what matters. Your gear set is aftermarket and you should follow the manufacturer specs for it. OP doesn’t have a advantek Dana gears. So why would he follow your specs?

Jeep Gladiator Rear Axle Question 20240625_120229

Since it wouldn't be fair to my other Trac-Loc equipped Jeep I figured it needed to be here too.

Sadly it needs to much to probably put back on road, with some work it could be a trailer queen to trails at least.

Oh the 91 XJ behind it has 3-4 in lift and setting slightly higher up the hillside.
