So back in March I put in the Oracle rear bumper lights:

And then a month or two ago I finally added some relays to give them a little more functionality. The bottom right switch in my auxiliar switch bank disables the lights so they won't turn on in reverse. Nice for not bothering others. The bottom left switch turns them on at any time (such as sitting parked) for when i need additional light behind me. I could have accomplished this with no relays and using diodes - but I had two relays and no diodes. I like this set up now because the disable switch acts as a 'lock out' now so that I cannot accidently turn them on while driving and blind someone behind me. The disable switch is set in Uconnect to be on all the time.
I also added bed side lights. The bed side lights are a Roadshock Harbor Freight flood light kit. These are connect to my top left and top right switches, for left and right work lights. We get into messes from time to time at night and having the side lighting has already been helpful.
So lets get out some tools and a cold snack.
In order to not modify the wiring on my truck, we'll modify Oracle's harness instead.
I will be breaking the reverse circuit that goes to the bumper lights with a pair of relays.
All wrapped up.
Sat on the couch and made up my relays. These are weatherproof relay packs.
Ignore the note in the middle - the relay wiring I used is on the bigger legal pad.
Relays installed in the rear tail light cavity and connected to the Oracle harness.
I ran this 3 conductor, 16 gauge cable to the front. One wire is to disable the bumper lights so that they do not turn on with reverse, the other is to turn them on if I am parked and need light behind me.
Under the hood I made a ground pigtail. This will give me one ground for each auxiliary switch wire that is easy to use.
Auxiliary wires along with their new ground connector.
Everything plugged in and tied up. The grey 16/2 cable is going back to my bed. That is next.
Designed some brackets on Send Cut Send to hold my bed side lights. I ordered two, they sent three, along with a decal and a pack of Sour Patch Kids. Super cool company.
Put a grommet in an existing hole in the front of the bed, ran out the wire and installed braided loom and a deutsch connector.
Bracket painted black, light mounted and attached to my DIY bed rail system.
