you had me at Tactical, lol I'll surely check it out.

A family friend died of blunt force truama when her car went into a snowy ditch. a 2" trailer ball in the back of her van somehow bounced around and struck her in the back of the head.

I'm pretty anal about debris in the car, puppy will be no different.

Our dog had back surgery so his back legs are a bit wobbly. Built a simple and removable platform for my Frontier so he won't fall off the seats and onto the floor. We just cover it all with blankets so he can lay down and enjoy the ride. Suppose we should still harness him after reading this thread, but are bad owners I guess...don't judge too harshly, I'll look into harnesses I promise. Anyway, hoping to do the same thing with the Jeep. Could make the platform cover 50-60% of the floor if traveling with a kid or third-wheel if needed.

OUT OF OSB AND NOT PLYWOOD? j/k awesome idea. For the JT you'll have to make holes for the rear HVAC ducts =)

My dog likes to be close and put her head on the middle console. Shes currently taken up residency in the front seat but I'm going to try to get her in the back seat of the Gladiator. Any suggestions on filling the gap between the front and back seats so she can still rest her head on the middle console while being in the back seat? Thanks!
look at post right above yours, good idea to me.

Mine loves to do the same thing. Your question got me thinking......

Actually the bottom of the rear seat folds up. If you have the trail rail deal, the cargo box is removable and according to other threads on here doesn’t support the rear seat bottom so..... I could take it out, throw an old blanket on the floor for extra padding and use the threaded knobs that secure the cargo box to secure two tie down anchors, run the dogs runner strap across the floor with that and she would be strapped in yet be able to rest her head on the arm rest sitting on the floor.

I’d like a hammock that only takes up half or 2/3rds of the rear seat. My son sits back there too and he’d probably love it if we brought his dog along.
See above reply by me. 60/40 split. Dog gets 60, kid get the 40% part of the seat in the down position.

Dang! Yes...REGULAR size. Thanks for the catch, I even went back to edit my post to add the size and messed it up
Thanks. Actually thought so. I remember your original post and I immediately went to Amazon and added it to my cart. Went to buy it last week after taking delivery of my JT and it is out of stock in regular size.

I use a pet tube. It can be adjusted in length and fully encapsulates my dogs. In the event of an accident, they can’t be thrown into the front. And, if they are shedders, like mine, it captures all the hair.

So I am still deciding on if the Gladiator is big enough or I need a RAM crew cab.

Any of you have two large dogs in the Gladiator? When I looked at one in person it looked like it would be pretty tight.
I have a 120# English Mastiff and a 75# long coat GSD. I don't want the drool AND the hair in my JT... plus, it would be a tight fit. (AND I'd have to lift Daisy, the Mastiff, in - her back end doesn't work so good... and I really don't plan on that kind of work out)

My plan is to schlep the pups in my other ride (Jeep Renegade - they fit with the back seat down - until I get a cap or shell for the back of my Renegade.

What kind of dogs do you have?

another question, now that the dog is in the back hammock, he's putting his scratchy paws all over the center arm rest.
Should I get this for $20

or this for $45?

I bought Bartact seat covers and got the armrest cover to match. More expensive, but I think the quality and durability is there.
