Guys, can’t say enough good things about this one...did a quick write-up on it on a previous post. And yes @Joe333x they even make rear door protectors too (not to be used with tinted windows though) - Copied it below:

Wanted to get a back seat protector for my dog...this one from 4knines fits perfect and I tested with the top and doors off and it stays in-place great! No need to cinch it down, just tuck the side flaps under the seat. Easy to access seat belts, center arm rest, and does 60/40 split with zippers on either side of armrest. You can also get the version with the hammock but I didn’t. Size = Large. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UXWJPIS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

How did you get the middle seat belt through there? I have a ruffwear and I can't figure that out yet? I need access to all 3 seat belts in the back.

what about the ruffwear one? I read from reviews that people are upgrading from these amazon ones that are breaking so fast and falling apart.

I have it but I will caution that it doesn't have a split rear design so if you need access to the middle seat belt in the rear, you are out of luck. I will be cutting it through to get access. Not worth the dough in that case. Worth going with split rear designs like 4knine has.

I chose a full seat delete as well to have a flat surface for the dog and to have a lower platform for him to jump in and out of. I sprayed the diamond plate with Lizard skin to make a non slip surface. It is so much easier to vacuum up dog hair as opposed to carpet. I built it with the flexibility to replace either side with the seat. I also added tiedown rings and tracks to secure cargo. I bought some of the rubber mats that connect like a jigsaw puzzle, and cut them to size so they fit on the floor without moving. The mats are cut to match the 60/40 split so I can take one side out. I have trap doors to access storage underneath..

I have seen a lot of responses on this thread. I have follow-up questions. I'm taking a 3.5 day road trip up to OR (and coming back a month later). I like the hammock option, especially this one I've seen you guys mention: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G642RMQ/ref=crt_ewc_img_dp_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2R7FV507EU7AP

Now, my dog is 42 pounds. He doesn't really like riding in the vehicle, but I just want him to not slide around or fall down in between the rear seat/front seat. Hence, liking the hammock. I'm also liking the rear seat delete. That may be an option, and bring them with me in the back so I can carry passengers around if needed upon arrival.

The hammock: does it block heating from getting back there? I can turn on the front vents, and direct to the back. I just don't want my buddy getting cold. I could put a couple blankets back there as well. I'm still debating where I"m going to sleep lol...

I have that exact hammock style seat cover for my dog. It does in fact block the rear vents, but like you're suggesting, I just direct some of the front vents back there. I live in the desert where the summers get to be 120+ but my pup does ok and you can circulate enough air (whether hot or cold) just fine in my experience.

I got the bed installed; took Roscoe for a ride in it, along with his new harness and the shock seat belt for him. I think it will work great! Now...about the heat inside at night when we are stopped...
I'm guessing if I can't find a decent alternative, I'll run the vehicle all night.

Also, any suggestions on covering up the windows for privacy?

Feedback for the trip: We left Thursday evening. He seemed to be ok with the hammock. Friday, more of the same. But then, Saturday, he figured out how to get under/around the hammock, and ended up sleeping on the hump area and my sleeping bag on the floor. When he did this, he almost hung himself with the harness/seatbelt tether I bought for him! Luckily I had looked back and noticed it, and saw it wrapped around his neck! I ended up just taking down the hammock :( SMH

Hi all - anyone here mind posting a picture of their dog strapped in with a harness?
I am having trouble visualizing how it would help in a wreck if they are still on a long enough lead to get window to window. Have an 80lb Shepherd and I am super nervous on the road with her. She mostly just lays back there. Would need to be loose enough to move around but also keep her safe

Thank you!

The harness goes on the dog. There is a ring on the back. The doggy seatbelt attached to this ring, and clips into one of the seat belt receivers in the seat. I can take a pic later if needed.

I have been using this cover since I bought the gladiator and it has been doing well with my 85 pound bernedoodle year old puppy. I have been quite happy with it and a couple friends have bought it because of seeing mine.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078L2MWRN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you want just holler and I will post a couple pics of it in the gladiator.

I leave it in there all the time and the snap clips make removing it quick. Depemding on my mood I sometimes just undo the front and let people sit on the cover but if people are dressed nicely I can quickly undo the other two clips and throw the cover in back

What size did you get ......... I see there are two different sizes.

Thanks,
