So I had a Bds lift installed and I
believe it is 1.5 rear and 3in front. Dealer said before I do alignment get a rear adjustable track bar. Some are saying the rear bar isn't needed and is counterproductive cause it will not adjust the angle and get the teraflex relocation bracket instead. I prefer parts over spacers and brackets but the relocation does make sense. Any thoughts over the bar or the bracket?

Also also is a 1.5R / 3inF lift in need of lower control arms? Why does the mopar 2in lift come with all 4 lower arms but no front track bar yet every other lift includes the track bar and no lower arms?

For that size of lift, I'd rather have an adjustable track bar. You're not at a point where the track bar angle is excessive and needs flattened out. An adjustable track bar will allow you to perfectly center the axle. A relocation bracket is a guess that hopefully comes out close.

The Mopar 2" comes with just one set of arms, front lowers that are fixed length.

Ideally you should install adjustable front uppers or lowers so you can adjust your caster.

Not very helpful I know, but my 4" lift does not use an adjustable rear. Shop that did the install were skeptical at first but in the end the axle was sitting exactly mid. Most brands have it the tech figured out so we don't have to, haha.

That’s not a bad theory tho okay so your axel is going to be off a bit. Which for the most part is cosmetic. If it was dangerous or was going to chew up tires or other parts rear bars or brackets would be needed or included. A basic lift is supposed to still get you down the road safely. And I know it’s petty but BDS/JKS doesn’t have a rear adjustable track bar or bracket yet for the gladiator stupid but I want the parts to match.

I'd rather have the control arms and a relocation bracket for the track bar. The caster angle on these is already rather small on these. I'd rather guess on the track bar and get a better adjustment on caster.

You don’t have to choose one or the other.

I’d rather spend a couple hundred bucks and have the axle centered.

Just installed the clayton rear with a bend on mine after leaving the stock bar for a bit after the lift. It maybe just wishful thinking but it felt like it drove better with the axles centered than it did before hand. I also like the beef of the aftermarket bars though they aren't going to really be stressed they are much more substantial than the factory units.

though they are nice to have but not totally necessary so if you have some place that will do lifetime alignments (firestone) just get it aligned now though you don't need to and then after you put the bar in.

What did you end up doing @mcd2484 ? I used a rear relocation axle-side bracket instead of a new rear track bar because apparently it a) raises the rear roll center and b) flattens the track bar, both of which are positive, in addition to centering the rear axle. I have the Mopar 2" lift and the lower setting on the Teraflex bracket centered it just fine, as far as I can meaure.

Well he made this thread today.

https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/track-bar-adjustment.60591/#post-998524

Based on the video in the other thread he got adjustable control arms.

Frankly OP needs to find a good off road shop….

Knowing the information in here and in the thread that was started today it’s a frankenlift and just needs to be dialed in.
Pinion angle is off, and track bar is still not dialed in.
