I was told by my dealer I could not wait for the inspection I had to leave it. They said if parts and labor are needed it could take the day. Anyone else told this?
Do they not have a waiting area? That’s ridiculous. It literally takes under an hour to do!!

Dealer probably doesnt even know what they are looking at / need to do. Probably just know some guy wants a thing looked at - shoo him away leave the truck worry about it later.

After working for a vehicle manufacturer for many years, on the production, supervision, and sales side - I have learned there are great communicators and problem solvers, and folks that just want whatever is going on and the customer out of their hair, lol.

Last night I went over to my mother inlaws to check on her lawn mower. Found a rotten fuel hose, ordered a 4ft section on Amazon.
Figured while I was there, I'd check on her power steering pump wiring, especially since she parks in the garage. Welp, it looked just fine, right as rain. She has a 21 Wrangler unlimited Sahara diesel.
That's 3 for 3 I've checked that have been fine.

So since my inspection, my back up camera has been black every time and thats never happened. I left the Tazer installed and I wonder if I need to just unmarry it and see if that fixes the problem or if they messed it up worse. This is why I don't go to dealership. Went from 10% of the time I get a black screen to 100% in reverse. I'm starting to think the Tazer is the problem. I reached to them to see their thoughts.

Dealer did mine yesterday while doing an oil change, came home today to the recall notice in the mail.
Still loving the thing and no problems other then diff sensor at 90 miles, and drivers visor at 43,000.

I'd bet that the visual inspection has nothing to do with your camera issue.

I went this morning to get my oil changed, no appointment, just showed up. Because in my mind I'm important like that. They set me straight. Every time. 2 hour backup. She said she'll call me when my time gets close.

I asked about the Recall and I was told the same thing you were told. She said she'll find out when it can be looked at and she'll also put me on the loaner car list. I said, "THAT long to look at it ?" She said, "Nope, but if they want to do something, at least you'll have a loaner ready and not have to sit around here all day.". Kinda nice.

So then I asked about the corrosion issue. She went out and took a few pictures of areas of concern. She has to file the report with Stellantis, she'll get with me when they respond.

All in all, this dealership is pretty decent.

So I only rebooted the Tazer because my 3 Honk Kill was not longer working. Now my backup camera works. Tazer said for me to unmarry and then reconnect the security gateway connectors (plug). If it continues after this then it's the backup camera.

I don't know if this applies to Gladiators, but I owned a Renegade from 2018 - 2025. VERY finicky vehicle, electrical-wise. Overall WORST vehicle I've ever owned, and I once owned a PT Cruiser !! New users would post a lot of questions about the vehicle acting up, doing crazy stuff. Seasoned members would first ask, "What have you done to it lately ?", the response typically is "Nothing !!" then followed up with, "Well, I upgraded the tail light bulbs to LED's that I bought on Amazon, THAT wouldn't cause these issues !!". The answer is ALWAYS "restore it to it's last known working state. Put the regular bulbs back in.". A few posts later, "it's back to normal, how can bulbs do this ?". Finicky was the word used. POS used by those that drove that vehicle for a while...

I've kept that frame of mind. "Restore it to it's last known working state". Haven't had to deploy it yet on this Jeep, but I'm ready if need be.

Funny, I thought Jeep used a engine spun hydraulic pump like old school. So the pump is electric?
I have come to the conclusion that auto manufactures charge so much for vehicles because they stopped trying to have quality and rather charge more to cover the warranty claims. Bottom line is they don't care. The only time they care is when they get sued, or the potential to be sued is there. This is not just Stellantis. in 2020 a base Gladiator started at 33k, and now it is 40k. They have to cover the recalls. If you charge more, you can sell junk. Reliability is a thing of the past, as is customer service.

$33,000 in 2020 has the same purchasing power as $42,000 in 2026. They haven't gone up in price. Basically, a Gladiator is cheaper today than in 2020.

Common misconception, though. People often say, "My parents bought their first house for $28,000 bucks !!", forgetting to add that your Dad only made $6,000 a year back then and it was a decent paycheck.
