Bill, my wife just mentioned she "happened" to reach out to our salesman and ask "hypothetically" how big a hit we would take if we traded in her 2025 JLU with 9k for a similar 2026 in Reign.
She also told me that "hypothetically" she would even give up her manual trans for the right purple Wrangler (which means the BLACK 2 piece hard top). So "hypothetically" maybe our wives could swap? :P

There's only one way she'll trade - and that's if the new one was reign.
She won't accept any other color.
And, it must be 100% reign, no black top, no black fender flares.

So unless your wife somehow managed a 2025 in reign (which they never offered) that wouldn't work.
And most likely, the window is closing even for a 2026 JLU in reign - it's normally a limited edition color, and it's been out for 3 months already (which was the total run for the 2023 model year, 3 months)
I'd bet that come January, it drops off.

No, the manuals, schematics, troubleshooting guides and parts diagrams will not tell you how to mod anything.
But combine them with a working brain, and they can be a huge help in planning and implementing modifications.
But I would mainly like those things because I plan to keep this long after the warranty is up, and I generally trust myself more than anyone else to fix something the right way instead of the easiest way.
I should have clarified - and more for lurkers and certain others - for many people, the manuals won't be much help. For some, yes, they'll be a valuable tool.

A few out there should not expect they'll be a "how to" for much of anything.
but for others

She's already has a '25 in mojito. She's looking for a 2026 JLU in reign, with the black hardtop and fenders. She also always wants the manual trans. So the funny part was if I got her the X with the m/t they could swap the parts they both would want.

But the truth is (besides 1200-1500 miles between us) if she gets one it will probably be another Sport S, and she actually said "if you found one with an a/t it might be ok if it has the remote start."
Wow. The last a/t she bought was when she got the mom-mobile in the 90s.

EDIT TO ADD: It's looking like if we do this that purple paint is gonna cost me like $11k

My wife is restricted on her license to automatic transmission. If she was ever in an accident, even if not her fault, and she was caught driving a stick........... who knows.
She did drive my Comanche with 5 speed now and then, but it's risky and not physically easy. Don't tell her impossible - she also drove my 1936 F20 with manual hand brakes across Polk County from the house we sold to where we were moving to. But - reality is, a manual would be be "legal" based on her license restriction and the manual t-case very impractical.

She's 100% accident-free since she was about 18 and then a woman turned in front of her and hit her, so even that one wasn't her fault.
I've had someone years ago here in these forums say "well, she shouldn't even be driving".
Tell that to our disabled vets - to their face. If that person had said that to my face, I'm afraid of what I might have done.

This is from the early 1990s -

She normally will not allow herself to be photographed showing her right arm so very very few photos exist of her like that.

If it's any consolation, Jeep is about to lose ANOTHER sale.
I just put together a special order Wrangler for the wife, even though her current one is only like 9 months old. I was going to take a huge hit trading it in, to get her one in reign.
I built it on the Jeep website. I then build it using the most recent buyers guide. Sent the following off to my sales guy:
2026 4-Door Wrangler Sport S
• 3.6L V6 with 8spd auto trans
• black 3 piece hard top HT1
• convenience group AJK
• safety group AJ1
• LED headlight group ADA
• black fuel filler door XJD
• lower body side graphic M9G
• primary color reign PHT

Should have been around $47k total with the various discounts.
Just got a call back. The only way to get a V6 Wrangler is in a Rubicon. Anything lower and it can only be ordered with the 4cyl turbo.

Are you kidding?

I wonder if they are starting to phase out the 3.6
I'd heard rumors about that, but don't have a motel 6 hotel room and confidential sources so didn't post it on youtube.

I should be more clear. The only way to get a Wrangler in REIGN is either a 392 V8, a 3.6L Rubicon, or a 2.0L lower trim package.

I actually told him "I know it's not your fault, but this is nuts. I can configure a vehicle to my liking on the Jeep website. The salesman (or myself in this case) can configure a vehicle to my liking via their order guide. But when he goes to order it, Something is not available. I also mentioned the bizarre hardtop/transmission issue you ran into on the X.
Why TF should the engine size or transmission tyle dictate primary or secondary paint colors?

Oof. That color looks like deep amethyst. My ex wife had a purple (deep amethyst) neon when I first met her 20 yrs ago. I always hated that car and color. Thankfully, it mechanically totaled itself at 80k miles. 🤣

Have you even seen it in person in the sunlight and all cleaned up?

In 2023 when they made this color, every one they got in sold fast.
It's got blue and red flecks in it and the true color only shows in the right light.

I’m sure lots of women buy it like they did with deep amethyst. It’s the same color, just a shade lighter. It’s not for me.

LOL - the other 2023s our dealership had went to - the sales manager.
Not exactly a "woman" color.
One guy here wanted one so badly and had to have it that week, the dealership had one trucked up from KC.
Maybe not for you - but you'd be amazed at who drives them.
