I want to try to install a receiver hitch in the front steel bumper instead of mounting the winch permanently there. I had this type of setup on a ZR2 and was able to use the winch on front or rear. Also not having the winch exposed to winter salt spray and the extra 90 lbs. all the time. I've got a bumper on order and will have to check the possibilities out when I get it. Possibly modify a winch mount adding a receiver to that. I looked at the Curt front receiver and didn't like how low it is and it interferes with the skid plate.

The Curt is designed so it comes out underneath the bumper, as would be expected. It works great with the factory plastic bumper.

They also make covers to go over the winches. Something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KQ2SRZN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
