“Both vehicles did not have OEM recovery points.”

The manual literally states emergency use only, for the “factory” recovery points on our vehicles. Quite honestly, I have seen enough snapped front ears/hooks- I don’t know why anyone would ever trust the “factory” recovery points on a jeep. They were bad on the JK’s and I don’t think they have improved at all on the JL/JT’s
Ok... you presented a perceived problem... so what do you suggest as a solution ?

dude in the Jeep went full send every time

Look for a YT channel called Zip Ties and Bias Plies. You have not seen full send til you've seen this guy. He deserves a trophy. A mint trophy.

I mean, I kind of thought the solution was implied…. If you intend to off road and need recovery- ensure that your Jeep is equipped with adequate recovery mounting points. For the rear- a rated recovery hitch. For the front an after market bumper with reinforced Clevis’.

If you are looking for brands etc. genright, rock hard, VKS fab and many others make solid bumpers with clevis that will not snap like the factory hooks/ears ???

People Work?
You cut something by applying a small thin edge and pressure to a limited amount of surface. That's what they did to the soft shackle on the Jeep clevis on the rear bumper.
The more you can amortize pressure to more surface, the more difficult it is to cut through.

Try using your steak knife blade vs the steak knife handle. It's pretty simple stuff.

The father-in-law was involved in something similar. Pulling a digger truck out of mud with a farm tractor. The attachment point on the digger truck ripped off and the whole thing went flying through the back window of the tractor, taking half the farmers face almost right off. Half his face was dangling by skin. He slumped forward and hit the hydro drive and the tractor took off. My father in law had to run after it and jump on while it was moving. The farmer lived, but that sticks with me whenever I pull someone out. I throw my jacket or whatever I have on the rope to try take away some of the momentum of it flying back at me.

I keep an Ikea shopping bag on board. used the same one for a decade great for a myriad of uses. during a recovery a wrap a soft shackle around it and toss a shovel or two of dirt in it and place it around the middle. snatching, towing or winching. I doubt they even cost $4, really almost indestructible and crunch down small enough to fit in a brown paper lunch sack size. very highly recommend

Maybe implied... but I was looking for specifics. Genuinely curious. I thought maybe you had a trick up your sleeve... or maybe you had advice other than "new bumper".
Thanks for the insight though. ?

Farms are dangerous. My dad said half the farmers he knew growing up were missing fingers?

When I first read this I thought you meant putting heavy tools like shackles and shovels in the bag… and I pictured this deadly trebuchet, flinging steel tools everywhere at 200mph if the line broke!?

Had a grain truck sink into the ground (had been dry for a week) once it was loaded, hooked a 130hp and a 95hp tractor to it with 9/16" chains. I threw my Carhart over the chain on the big tractor and someone did the same on the smaller one. Well, the big tractor snapped the chain. Sounded like a shot going off but the coat was just enough to keep things from flying.
Borrowed some 6" straps from a local tow shop and got the truck out.
I have synthetic line on my winch and soft shackles. Still throw a coat over it just because.

Jeez. It would have better than not using one.
