Reduce rake by adding weight in JT bed

I'm new with JT ... I didn't like the 2" rake but not sure about adding front spacer..... so I experimented with putting about 250 pounds inside tailgate. This leveled the truck and I can remove the weight when I need the room for cargo...
Any thoughts ?

I laughed as I had never heard of anyone adding wear and weight and dropping mpg to reduce rake. So if you get somewhere and want to haul something, what do you do with 250 pounds - is it concrete, sand bags, gold bars?

Inside the tailgate? Now I'm wondering how real this is. Naw, you can't mean INSIDE the tailgate...........

1) make your truck handle worse.
2) accelerate worse
3) get worse fuel economy
4) wear its suspension faster
5) create the added hassle of having to remove 250 lbs in order to access the rear of the bed. (the most useful part in day to day use)
6) have to adjust your headlights for the new rake and have them pointing into the ground when you temporarily remove the weight.
7) consume about half of your remaining load capacity once you put 2 people in the truck

All to subtly change the look of the truck??

When I want to haul something I sure don't want to hassle opening the tailgate and removing 250 pounds.
Something just doesn't seem right. 250 inside the tailgate? Does he mean literally INSIDE the tailgate, like removing the panel, or does he really mean in the bed of the truck???
So I've read it literally as if he put it inside the tailgate! Naw, can't be - you can't take that little panel off and get 250 pounds in there. LOL - it must be late. No one puts weight inside the tailgate wow.

He keeps weight in the bed of the truck - still, seriously? What if you are out somewhere and suddenly have a need to load up the truck - what do you do with that weight? I never know what I'm going to haul with the truck so I am always prepared - I always have straps and tiedown points and stuff with me and keep the bed of the truck as empty as possible.

I don’t know about y’all but a couple hundred pounds in the rear makes mine handle a little better.

I think the most I’ve had in the bed so far is about 90 pavers, wasn’t better in this case, but since we are bragging….

I hate to say it but I think its all in your head.

The days of the light in the tail pickups are over. There is a huge difference in weight distribution between a 4 door truck with a 5 foot bed and an old 2 door truck with an 8 foot bed. The old truck there is literally nothing for the rear 8 ft of the truck.

We've got a whole 'nother set of seats and a very short bed connecting the two.
