Welp, I went through with it! This thing is amazing. Has every option I wanted and nothing more. Leather, LED’s, matching hard top and fenders, remote start, and tow package. It’s perfect! Not my top choice in color, but I like it! Adding the pedal commander REALLY woke this diesel up! It’s unreal! Averaged 26 MPG driving 220 miles home.

Hey OP, some good posts in here.

I really like my JTRD, with 35’s it’s stunning, and has tons of torque.

I think it’s important to understand, that as a truck it’s more of a lifestyle truck, for small loads or towing light trailers without significant grades. Towing ratings are just numbers…. I can tell you that my JTRD out tows my Tacoma on flat land, but when it comes to pushing the vehicle hard on long grades, I’d avoid this Diesel.

longevity should be good assuming quality fuel, and your CP4 doesn’t eat itself… (most folks won’t).

I do recommend getting a Bluetooth OBDII scanner, and downloading my dashboards to use with car scanner pro.

They Include a ton of gauges for EGT/IAT/Soot level/Regen state that you should be aware of when you push the engine.

I put a 1000 miles on my JTD before I towed with it. I had to tow a 20’ enclosed trailer, loaded with a UTV and tools, back from Oregon to my home in So Cal. I was very pleased with the performance of the truck and noticed increased temps on long steep grades. I simple monitored the temps and slowed when they began to rise. Once it cooled down, which was pretty quick, it was back to normal speed. No issues with derating and 12.5 mpg for the trip. Pretty good for a truck not built to tow. I love my diesel!!!

I am loving this thing so far! Got about 400 miles on it already and the immediate torque is a game changer! I have no intentions of towing at all, so I'm not concerned about that aspect. I just wanted it for the increased range, MPG increase, and torque (fun factor). Thanks for that post CreepyJeepy. Should I start using it for anything work related, perhaps I'll go with that setup.

Those with the 7in screen are you able to see all your info on it? Oil/water temp and pressure trans temp etc? Or do I need to get the 8.4in screen?

I believe you can also get a can bus scan gauge and program what you want it to display. Just a cheaper option but I love the 8.4 screen. My wife’s JL has the 7ā€ and I’m not a fan of it

Owned my ecodiesel since january and put 13k miles on it. I've had two CEL lights and its been with the dealer for over a month now for bad fuel injectors and lines. Waiting for parts is a nightmare. Honestly I'm going to be swapping this out for a Gas, as I've lost all confidence in this motor. Both CEL lights came on whilst I was in the middle of nowhere Utah Desert and had to limp 200+ miles hope with no power. These new diesels are just too sensitive with all this emissions crap.

I've got 43K on my 2022 and the only issue so far has been a speed sensor.
