yeah, thats the sad trueth. everything is designed around the dumbest end user.
The thing is that these vehicles appear to know when they are in gear. So in other words, detect if it's in neutral or not, and disable the remote start if any of the necessary conditions fails a test. Even to the point of a last minute warning on the cluster as you shut down "notice, remote start will not function" - whatever.
The technology is there to do remote start and do it SAFELY on these. If e-brake isn't engaged fully, if it's not in neutral, etc................

I've not installed one on a manual vehicle, but I've used the Fortin Evo one for years up until my last couple of vehicles that came with remote start. I always prefered The Evo as I hated having a second remote, you just have to hit the lock button 3 times.

The Evo one shows how to install on a manual Gladiator.

https://fortin.ca/en/vehicles/jeep/gladiator/2021-push-to-start/

Go to the link and click on the Regular Installation guide for the Evo One.

Hi,
I've sadly headed down this rabbit hole. I found someone who says this can work. Evo one headquarters. My question was, can I use the factory remote to remote start my 2020 push button manual jeep gladiator. Here is his response...
Yes it is possible. You would need the following parts using the oem remote...
- Evo-One
-Thar-chr7
-Flash link updater
-relays, resistors and diodes
I reached out to Evo One since there are no authorized dealerships near me. There seems to be only a few in the Toronto area. Anyway, they said that while it's something I could do, they recommended finding a retailer. But they did send the attached schematics.
