The thing is that these vehicles appear to know when they are in gear. So in other words, detect if it's in neutral or not, and disable the remote start if any of the necessary conditions fails a test. Even to the point of a last minute warning on the cluster as you shut down "notice, remote start will not function" - whatever.yeah, thats the sad trueth. everything is designed around the dumbest end user.
The technology is there to do remote start and do it SAFELY on these. If e-brake isn't engaged fully, if it's not in neutral, etc................
