Is it me or is the new grille pictured on I believe a 392 Wrangler actually hav the two outside slots solid and area under headlights looks to be solid also. I don’t mind the new grill sort of starting to lose the seven slot thing and looks like a big black grille but if the areas mentioned were open to airflow would seem smart, solid areas is just styling and doesn’t improve anything….Jack

It may not need more air. Grill opening is sized for worst case. In most cases towing high and hot, up hill. If the tow rating is lower than our trucks, it can get by with less opening. Also if you create a well sealed plenum between the openings and the radiator (better considered to be a "heat exchanger stack" since there are about 3 or 4 layers to it now) then you need less opening.

As I look at my cars - one an 82, and the 70 I sold, the radiator support is made in such a way the air must go through the radiator, or under the vehicle. My 70 had a chin spoiler that forces air upward to the radiator and the hood was sealed against the support in front so no air could go between radiator and hood, and there was a seal under the radiator that prevented air from going between the gap between the bottom radiator tank and the lower support. It was either go through the radiator or be blocked. The little 82 is very well sealed - air has to go through the radiator or into the intake for the air filter. No choices.

There is a diminishing return for the number of "rows" in a radiator core. You get over 3 or 4 and you are pretty much done because that that point, the air is about as hot as the coolant. I read a study on that somewhere years ago and said that what some propose as far as adding yet another row would gain nothing but weight.
You also begin to actually restrict the air flow, making things worse.
We could get into the fans - pullers vs. pushers and so on, but.........

I think the infotainment will eventually have a retrofit kit for those who want it. It looks to just be a dash panel retrofit without the vent cutout, and then the replacement of the uconnect system. If the underlying sub systems are the same as they are now, which is more than likely, it should work.

Use the durango as an example, the 22-23 models have the larger screen U5, and a replacement dash, but everything behind the screen is identical to it was years back.

Short of that, not really a fan of the modern grille.

It's uconnect 5 - like the Waggoneer and RAM get.
Jeep has previously used uconnect 4 in the JL and JT. It's not just a screen size change. The OS itself is different.

anyone else notice the additional front bumper 'extension' with the factory Warn Winch ?

If you buy the Mopar winch plate it also comes with these bumper caps, and the crush can extensions that go under them. I'm personally not a fan of the look.

I'm sure Jeep would rather do without those as well - but if we are a fan of Jeep, we have to accept they must do what the feds in the US and the laws of the EU and UK say they do.

Yep, I completely understand the reasoning for them, and accept it. that being said, I'd still probably get a set of "non-which" caps and take the extensions off for a cleaner look.

When they stated, integrated off-road camera , I'm assuming they are talking about a std front trail cam? When I read that I was thinking they were adding the 360 degree Bird's eye view system considering the added 12 inch screen. I haven't read anything about what the system consists of. The 360 view would be awesome for off road.

I'm not a mechanically knowledgeable man, what's the significance of full float axle?

I don't love or hate the grill; if I knew cooling drawbacks of the current and improvement of the new, I might be completely sold. Can't say the dash looks better, but I like bigger screens and updated OS. What I like is more standard and cross-trim options (bigger screens for all trims, Adaptive cruise control, locker on Willy's, etc.).

As someone who recently spent a lot of time virtually building JLs, JTs and dabbled on Bronco site, it really does seem to be an appropriate competitive response and getting with the times. The price though... that remains to be seen. Depending on that, and if any/which of these make it to the '24 Gladiator will determine how jealous I am of not waiting on my order.

I will miss my fender mounted antenna. With an extended antenna I am getting clear AM reception 60 miles away around some pretty large mountains. The last 2 vehicles I had with the windshield routed antenna were a '72 Riviera and a '78 Eldorado Custom Biarritz Classic. Those both had dick for reception. The Cadillac did have a power antenna, for its factory CB, but regular radio reception was terrible in both. I'll miss being able to listen to the AM stations from Anchorage when I eventually get a new Jeep. The axle upgrade is fantastic, it will open up a ton of trailers to the Wrangler, makes it much more useful. I see a drop in Gladiator sales when the (cheaper) Wrangler can do close to what the (more expensive) Gladiator does. Power seats I don't really care much about. The dash does look pretty snazzy in my opinion. And if the new grill cools better I'm all for it. Overall a very worthy upgrade.

saw this morning in the news.... a French journalist wrote this about the new grile :

"A less tamed front face

Aesthetically, the main Wrangler's evolution is about the Front Grille. This one is no longer adorned with a body panel. It's a fully exposed grille, from which the round lights protrude, gives the car a more rustic look. its also much lower which highlights the front bumper's prominence"
