Does anyone else’s truck sound like a jet taking off when you are backing up?

Yep, typical with reverse gears in lots of vehicles. Usually it's from straight cut gears meshing together.

I guess as you go and slow down and speed up it does sound like a ghost. If you just go backwards it sounds like a jet.

Auto or manual?? I can’t hear anything over the sound of the engine in reverse in mine. Manual trans reverse gears are pretty high and pretty quite but have to give it some gas to not stall.

My automatic started doing the ghost sound too. It’s so weird. I’ve never had a vehicle do that before.

I thought I heard something as I was backing up today lol. Day 3 of ownership, still getting to know my Gladiator :D I don't mind the noise at all, kinda neat as long as its healthy.

I here it too. And I also get a weird sound at start up every now and then. Especially during cold starts.

Yup, mine does it too...i kind of think it's talking to me asking me "why are we backing down from a challenge?"
