Rock Hard VS White Knuckle Sliders

I have the WK on my Rubi with the oem rails. I like the frame mounting. I've drop 3ft on a rock with no damage.

After having them Line-Xed.

Damage from Rausch Creek. Peeled the Line-X off in some areas.

I did take you a couple pics, used a spot light.

You will see the "Round tubes" are an 1" or LESS below the "square tubes". I used a level.
Also,
I took a shot with the camera lens even with the bottom of the rail, and you can see there are many things under the JT that are below the rails... so clearance wouldn't be a concern for me.

*side note: you dont need the pre-cutout R/B with the Rock Hard Sliders.

That's perfect, thanks! About 1" lower than rail, but frame and other elements are lower by far. I can see going with Up Angle if you're frequently in the rocks, as they're not always underneath, but that's a minor concern for my needs. Down Angle is likely the one if I go RH.

In my case ( USMC Retired) I am disabled and needed a step. There was no way I was going with anything electric or that have a runner like the Go Rhino. I wanted the strongest, most rugged, functional steps possible. At the time, Rock Hard was it... now there are copies that have been tweaked... but so far, the RH Patriots have stood the test of time and continue to check all the boxes... atleast for me. They aren't cheap, so you have to make a list of wants/needs and go with the one that stands out. You're doing your homework, so you'll make the best choice for you. Well despite all the votes for Rock Hard, I got my answers from White Knuckle today. Order placed with them. They said 6-8 week lead time, but they are only a few hours drive from me, save myself the shipping charges for the price of a tank of fuel. So $300ish vs $80ish.

I got my RH, shipped for free. But sounds like you got it taken care of. Can't go wrong either way.

White Knuckle is actually a lot more expensive, like in the neighborhood of $500 more + plus a tank of fuel to pick up.

Once I saw they started making their signature slider for the JT, I knew I wanted it. Know that feeling when you get something good, great even, but not quite what you wanted? I opted to not have it and went team white knuckle. Judging from all of the rave reviews, I think you can’t go wrong either way here, both are top notch products.

The +500 more depends on your options I guess. I had the exact feeling with the RH. But that's because I dont like the solid top on the JT version. I really like the W-Knuckle JL version though, so go figure. Honestly, both are built beyond what most will ever use them for(includes Me... lol) so it really comes down to the look your going for, and it's really hard to put a price on that. Congrats on tbe new sliders ! Post us some pics when you get them installed.

They said 6-8 weeks, so I'm hoping to make the trek by mid June at the latest. I opted for the fully dimple plated and thickest DOM wall they offer (which is .188") plus powder coat. You could get a bare metal, bare bones set for quite a bit less. Like alluded, I would rather get something overbuilt I'll never see the full capacity of than to get something cheaper, which I have considered (think the ones made by Rugged Ridge) that I know I wouldn't be as proud of. It is the same reason I opted for the Rubicon, likely to never truly need the front and rear locker with the a disconnected sway but, but if you are spending big boy money anyways, might as well.

I have the Rock Hard and love them. I do have to say I noticed a small amount of rust on some of the welds right after install. RH was really responsive and offered a credit towards repair, but honestly I hit with some touchup paint and they've held up great.

I just Ace Engineering on my JK (well before Ace was sold) and have to say RH is on par with their stuff and super high quality.

I like the electric one in theory (step when you need, not when you don't), but don't want it for maintenance/longevity reasons. Don't specifically want a running board, but want some rock/hinge protection they could offer (enter Rockblokz). I haven't looked at all options yet, but cheaper ones expose the pinch seam typically. So far, the RH look good, strong, functional, appear decent as a step (other than needing anti-slip), and not ridiculously expensive.

The Metalcloak Overland Rocker Flip Step kit looks interesting as you can flip from flat to down angle, but also looks like it's filled with crevices for mud/salt/etc.

I got to unpacking stuff, is it safe to say they made a mistake in packing up the hardware? This is all I received.

Looks like you may have the full set of hardware per the hardware kit.
