Rock Light Install Wiring -How To

Several including myself are looking to wire up rock lights to the bed lights to act as courtesy lights AND have the ability to wire to either the bed light switch on the dash OR and AUX switch.

Can those that have done these give a step by step to include the wiring/location of the diode.

Please be as detailed as possible.

I have the lux kit with the installer kit so it just hooks up to the aux switch fairly easy:

what your trying to acomplish with the courtesy lights John Hartel did have a look at his video also you can reach out to him directly he will respond

I will take a look.

I am just wanting to know the tap in process to the bed light harness.

Do i tap to the nearest rock light and does the DIODE go from the bed light harness or up by the Pro-Installer box.

I will see if the videos address it.

If I recall he tapped into one of the fuses directly so when he opened the doors the rock lights go off! I believe he shows what fuse he tapped into in The first video

I want to gove John Hartel a BIG shout out!! He waked me through my light install and even made videos and a diagram for me to follow.

An absolute standup guy and can not thank him enough!

Mine are done!!!

Installed the LUX Lights with Pro-Installler

It too me from 9am - 6pm ish.. to fully install and wire them up to the pro-installer box.

Works when:

Remote unlock button hit
Door opens
Turn bed light switch on from dash

Love them!!!

Yes. Very easy.

1. Run all rock lights to the hood.
2. Spilce into Beige/White wire (#6 on Body Control Module) passenger right side footwell.

3. Wire in all lights to the LUX Pro-Installer box….**** Depending on how many lights you install..you may have to double up wires as the oro-install box only has (8) holes for connections BUT you can run a double set.
4. ^ Wires above from lights go to zone 1 and Zone 2.

The T-Tap from wire #6 goes up to the Pro-Installer and then a butt connector splits it to (2) wires with 1 going to Zone 1 power and other wire going to zone 2.

No prob! The time consuming part is nust running the lights to the engine compartment. That alone took me about 7 hours.

Hey @MMMojave, do you have any info (or a pic) on locating the #6 wire on the BCM? I tried to find a schematic but came up empty. I couldn’t get my multimeter prongs in the connection of what I think the wire is so I’m waiting on some Amazon items to help. Here’s a pic of what I think the wire is. I tried to get a pic of the port it goes into but no luck.
