Does anyone know what size bolts are needed for these two brackets to attach to the hitch receiver? These don’t exist on the OEM plastic bumper.

Thanks, I found an older thread of someone asking the same question and the Mopar parts # for the hardware. I just added it to my order because I needed all the bezels and brackets for the parking sensors

Happy with the bumper and I’ve started adding on the Ruby bedsliders as well. But I was a little disappointed to find after I mounted it up that whoever took it off originally decided to bang the hell out of the rear step when they were removing the bolts behind the license plate. I know it’s spot where your foot is supposed to go, but the bumper otherwise looks brand new so it kind of annoys me.

I was thinking of putting on a piece of grip tape to cover it up, or maybe some kind of decal. Has anyone ever done that on their rear step or am I just crazy?

Well I opted for some grip tape. It’s not perfect, but I think it looks way better than a scratched up bumper plus it’s functional! Hopefully it holds up over time, but I have a 30 foot roll of it so it wouldn’t be too big of a deal to reapply from time to time.

From where? I priced it around $60 and when I tried to order it from BAM they told me it wasn’t available.

I assuming you went from a plastic rear bumper to a Rubicon steel bumper? I'm looking to do the same and wondering if there are any additional parts needed besides these two bolts you mention. The one I'm considering buying also has the bed sliders and the brackets that go with them. Just curious if it's just remove and replace (lighting of course needs to be swapped). I know I'd need another tow hook since mine only has one in the rear.

Those should be the only bolts you need. I am still working on the swap technically because I am also switching over the parking sensors which required ordering up a bunch of brackets and bezels. I haven't summoned the will power yet to mess with that because I am still recovering from the trauma of removing the wiring harness from the plastic bumper LOL. Other than that it is pretty straight forward.

Ha ha, good to know. I don't have parking sensors and neither does the one I'm looking at so that helps. But yeah, I'd have to move over all the wiring for the lights and trailer lighting too. I'm guessing this is a weekend job, not something to just jump into.

I finally got mine all finished today. I basically had to do it twice because I didn’t realize all the extra parts I needed to swap the sensors. It’s not difficult, but definitely takes some time and patience. Love having the bed sliders!

I just peeled a bit of mine back on hieroglyphic-mountains-loop yesterday. So now I either want a Rubi take off or am looking for a decent steel replacement that's less than a house payment. Lol

What's your guess on the weight difference between bumpers? Because of the trailer we ended up getting I am trying to keep anything I put on as light as possible, but would really like the factory steel bumpers over the plastic ones. Considering some of the aluminum bumpers as well, but not sure yet.

I'm trying to deal with a seller on ebay who has a rear Rubicon steel bumper take-off for sale. It looks like it's a stock steel MOPAR bumper and I asked him a couple of questions and he said "it won't work for you". Huh??
I'm asking him "why not" - I only said I had an Overland and was looking for a steel rear bumper from Rubicon and asked him if that bumper had had the sensors in it at one time (would make it easier as the holes would be there) and I get back "it won't work for you".
Pretty short, sharp, to the point. Likely he doesn't want to mess with shipping it or something?

So why will a Gladiator steel rear bumper not fit Overland?

Tough for me to guess, but the steel one is definitely heavier, at least twice as heavy (which isn't saying much because the plastic one is pretty light).

I thought the (stock) rear bumpers all mount the same so I don't know why it wouldn't fit. But the only way you can get one with the sensor holes in it would be from a Rubi take-off.
