I am seeing LOTS of rubicon take off springs and shocks in my local FB marketplace. For around 2-300.
Who has done this type of swap and was it a noticeable improvement to your original suspension?

No value in my mind, if you want lift add a spacer kit or a real lift.

Don't mess with the shocks - they are bouncy.
The springs are mostly for a bit of lift, like a 1" lift on some Gladiators.
The amount of "lift" will vary with the exact Rubicon springs you get and the weight of your Gladiator. There are several spring numbers used under Rubicon so no one can say "Rubicon springs will lift your Gladiator by x" "

I have Rubicon springs laying around, and the shocks. Just need someone close to me who wants them.

If one of you were closer, I'd take them off your hands and give them a go. I'd like to get just a smidgen more firmness when towing but not looking to lift anytime soon as my wallet is going to need some recovery time before I go digging myself another financial hole

I'd have to check my maps, but it's my understanding from my old geography classes that the United States isn't too far away from Iowa.

True, though these days one might think we're all in different countries, but I digress. We're currently in the deep SE (GA), and while I tend to leverage any excuse possible for a good road trip, I'm not sure I could talk the crew into a 2,400+ mile round-trip if it didn't include a destination of New England (our second home). When they're a little older, we might swing up that way, we'd like to see Effigy Mounds as it's very similar to the mounds down in this area.

A buddy of mine did the swaps with his sport JL. He has a 3.6 motor, but got a diesel JL Rubicon suspension. He got LED headlights highline fenders the suspension, and even found the Rubicon disconnecting front sway bar. Instead of messing with the electronics which have been known to go out anyway he purchased the Evo quick disconnect, electronics delete and loves it. He went with 35 11.5x17s with inch and a half, 4 inch and three-quarter spacers because he’s got the narrow axles. He even got the ruby rails.

I'm happy with my setup: Rubicon shock, springs, Terraflex 1.5 leveling kit, 35x11.50 Toyo AT3s.

It's like stock+ IMO.
