I'm looking for some up angled frame mounted rock sliders that will get used as intended (sliding across rocks). I've narrowed it down to Rustys ($1350 delivered I think need to verify availability), Rockhards ($1200 delivered) and Icon ($1050 delivered). Any recommendations or considerations I should take into account?

I've got Rockhard one's on my LJ damn solid product will hold up to about anything the Jeep is capable of and more. Not a JT though. But I would recommend any of their products. No experience with Rusty’s rails but a few of his lift kits, Rusty’s is a stand up company that's helpful on getting things right. (IME)
But do note similar threads below your's on them.

A total shot in the dark, but I’m leaning toward Rockhard4x4. I took a few years off from the Jeep addiction and was planning on my go to Shrockworks for bumpers and sliders. I’m still crushed that Shrockworks closed shop ?….anyway, Rockhard seems to be the closest comparison, and it seems folks here have nothing but praise for the company. So yeah, Rockhard.

Just so you know, RockHard is not considered frame mounted.
They bolt through the holes on the pinch seam and use the 3 body mounts.
Don't know about the other two.

Frame mounted means just that, only mounted to the frame.

With that said, I have the RockHard angled down, so you already know what my vote is.

I was just realizing that while watching the Rockhard installation video. I guess I just assumed they were frame mounted. Thanks.

CavFab, Icon are two examples I see that I would recommend.

Piece of advice, if you're buying them to use as intended, look at wall thickness of the tube.
Stay away from the cheaper, thinwall stuff with iffy coating.

I have rockhard and have been very impressed with them. Have had jeep guys and sponsors I've wheeled with impressed with them. They have held up to a pretty good beating and just touch up with a coat of gloss black. Plus they work as a step (mostly so I can wipe the roof off).

That being said like the look of rustys a little better, but not drastically. Rustys wasn't available when I wanted to order.

No experience with Icon

I wouldn’t hold anything against RockHard. Those are totally different than simple steps that only bolt to the punch seam. They mount to the body mounts, which are “frame” and do not move, and also attach to the pinch seam to spread out the force over a large area.
Has anybody posted bent ones here the last few years? Not that I’ve ever seen.
If anything I think because they have so many attachments, they are way stronger actually than a lot of “frame” mounted ones. I’m sure there are super strong frame ones, maybe genright or NextVenture or something but it’s just physics, there is a long distance from the frame to act as a lever and bend them. Spreading some force to the pinch seam halves that distance and spreads the force over more area.
I have massive beefy TNT frame mounted sliders that were a beast to install, had to spend hours with several cobalt bits drilling into the high strength steel frame.
I rode mine over several badge trails here, and finally bent the front driver up a teensy bit landing on a boulder on Holcomb. Even LOD which I thought were like the toughest ones, people have bent those.

I don’t think RockHard would’ve bent.

Sounds like it’s common when installing to have to drill out some pinch seam holes to fit. Not sure how hard the front body bolts are to remove on yours but they can be hard, especially the front body bolt supposedly.
I also had to loosen the rear two body bolts for the TNT and it went fine, just used breaker bar and went two steps loose, one step retighten, over and over. What I’m saying is none are probably easy to mount, so I wouldn’t be scared of the RockHard ones.
I love how mine look, if I started over though I’d have a hard time turning down the RockHard ones. I’d probably do angled down since I’m short though?
