So If I could get a list of all the sales codes to turn on every option in my Willy's is there a list somewhere? Like the Sales code for the proximity sensors are GXD. I have a friend at a Jeep dealer but I will only see him when I go to visit.
I am sure you guys would have this list.
thank you,
Josh

Well I am talking about options like proximity and front facing camera. Not options like changing the computer to another model.

There are threads in the DIY section that cover the proximity handles and front trail camera. There's a lot more involved than just enabling the option in the computer. Having the Sales Code attached to the VIN ensures the option stays enabled after a computer flash or upgrade. If you enable the option manually, it may have to be done again every time the truck visits the dealer. To get the Sales Code attached to the VIN, the option had to be available from the factory for that truck. If the option wasn't ordered from the factory, it takes dealer involvement to try and get the Sales Code attached to the VIN.

That makes a lot of sense. Thank you Mr Bill. But if I buy the proximity sensors and install it they shouldn’t turn it off every time I go or buying one of these little things that over ride the computer would be a better way to go.

You must have the camera installed for it to work. Just adding the sales code won't do squat!
Same for the passive entry - without the handles and harnesses - good freakin luck! You must have the HARDWARE.
RARE is the thing you can simply "enable" without adding hardware.
About all I found that you could simply program in was the auto high beam - and that was included in JTs built the month after mine........ so the hardware was already there.

You can't just go in and add sales code to make something work your Jeep doesn't have the hardware for.

Adding the proximity sensors after purchase requires them to be enabled. It can be done using Jscan or AlfaOBD with a OBD device and a security bypass cable, or with a Tazer. If the dealer has to make changes to the truck computer, it usually erases any changes you made. Keeping track of the changes, and the steps to enable them, makes it easy to fix if they do get undone. Getting the Sales Code added to the VIN means you don't ever have to worry about it, but it is not always something that can be done.

Right - it can ONLY be done if that thing was an actual option for YOUR truck at the time it was built. They could not do my auto high beam because it wasn't included at the time my truck was built. It was included with the safety package the following month.
So if it was on the list of options for YOUR truck when your truck was built - it can be added, but the hardware must be there, too.

I finally bought one of the OBDLink MX+ dongles on a Prime Day deal. Now I'm going to follow your instructions and see if I can get the Auto High Beams to work on my Overland. It has the hardware (ACC/FCW), but is an early build (3/28/2019).
