Got a friend that's into this shit. It's the ricers version of overlanding. He's got a WV Tourgag as I call it. He has a 12,000 lb winch on the front of it. LOL

Yeah I just snapped it in passing. Would like to know more about it.
Should have stopped to take a better look just to see if it had 4WD

You laugh. But when I finish my Baja bug... Well, it'll be finished. That's all. But seriously, I think it's pretty cool. I dig functional but weird mods.

Bill has dumped a ton of money into it. Went out and bought a welder, tube bender, and a bunch of other equipment. He already has gone on a few trips with it. Everytime he comes back home. He's changing something on it.

Oldest son and I built his Clubman a couple of years back... 3" lift, full engine skidplate, shock tower brace and pushbar. KO2's not on it yet. Unfortunately it fell prey to a Nissan Armada turning left from the right lane driving completely over the hood.... both totaled.

How is that related? The Toureg is an SUV and was very capable with the right options.

Looks like the love child of a rally car and a dune buggy. I dig it!
I was about to post it looks like a modern day take on the 60's Meyers Manx dune buggies. I wonder if it's just looks or was anything done to it to make it actually capable of light off-road duties?

EDIT: I see coilover shocks, wheel arches cut for clearance, much bigger wheels & tires, bigger radiator, big spot lights, big spare with some kind of mounting frame...or maybe that's part of a rear crash bar similar to the front. Since early Mini's can be had isn the $3000-5000 range it might not be a bad idea as a toy if they're somewhat capable.

2nd EDIT: Wait...is that a differential in the back? Made into a rear wheel drive or on some other/or tubular frame? Wow

That’s cool. What I get a kick out of are the lifted Subaru’s. Folks run into a lot of driveline issues lifting those though.

The only other vehicle that I seriously considered coming out of my last Outback (a ‘19 Limited) was a ‘22 Wilderness edition. From the factory…it’s lifted and has skid plates and a rugged roof rack that allows you to mount a roof top tent.
