Cut it into three 4' pieces. Lay them down in the bed stacked on top of one another. Use the remaining space for your welder and gas then, when you get to where you're going, weld it back together.

If you need to bring it back make sure you bring a hacksaw. Or weld some disconnecting brackets on it if you're planning on transporting it a lot

I bought one of those at Harbor Freight several years ago to haul my two person sit on Kayak to and from the river. Have a warning flag that I put on the end of my Kayak. I expect, I will be using it this spring with my Jeep Truck. However is your truck is labeled and it looks like you use the ladder commercially it may or may not be allowed by the DOT in your state. Works great though.

Get a bed extender that plugs into the trailer hitch. We use them all the time to extend beds when hauling 14' and 16' kayaks. Course you would have to borrow or buy one
