I may have to take my truck to the dealer to have a spare PCM installed/flashed soon. Will it be necessary for me to remove the bypass module I installed to use my AlphaOBD?

I would return it back to stock just for the simple fact that they will blame it if the dealership accidentally bricks your PCM regardless. Gives them less of an out and point of contention.

Like they said - plus add one "why not?" to the above ;)

Funny thing, I forgot last time I had my truck in for work and it was a week later when I got into the console for something I found my cable and BT adapter in the console.
They never said a word.
BUT - that's a big exception in my estimation. And these guys know me pretty well by now. Sales guy keeps going back there and explaining to them. He knows me.

I guess the "why not" is just because it's such a pain to get to.
What I'm really asking, is will the module interfere with the flashing/programming process?

You know what is a pain? Having FCA, Stellantis, Jeep shafting you because you have evidently modified, changed etc. something which mean that they will state you voided warranty and went against the TOS and therefore every little issue they will blame on you, and you will have to fight tooth and nail if you want them to do right by you.

If they flash or program remove every little thing. Unplug Accessories, USBs etc.
Also even when people tell you with certainty that something won't interfere, you never know
Look through the interwebs on how many tricks they have tried. Blaming winches, tires etc.

Why risk that pain?

Another avenue, if you like and trust them, you can (in writing) inform them of your module and ask for (written) confirmation that it is no issue and will not effect anything....

You don't have the extension cable set, I take it.......

Good luck with that because they may not know for sure. And why would they guarantee someone who has put that in place that it's not going to be a problem?
One of the checks that's done is to check the security module if a full set of tests on all modules is done.
Personally, the few minutes it takes to remove that, and even less with the extension cable set, I'd just rather not risk anything or have them attempt to blame any issues.
Imagine they try to do something and there's a problem and they see that in there and they are one of "those" dealers and they blame a flash going bad on that setup.... and tell you that you gotta pay for a new PCM or whatever.

This also happened to me. Then the service rep followed me out after that appointment and suggested the extensions that Z automotive makes.

https://www.zautomotive.com/product/z_sgw_ext/

I had seen them on this forum before but never bothered...until that comment from the rep. Now I have them and its a breeze to remove the bypass before it goes in.

@onebad427 take a look at that cable I linked. Makes it significantly easier to manage the bypass module.
